This glass pendant light was cast in my kiln a couple years ago. I've done variations with different colours, but this is my current favourite. It is featured here as a response to the artexplosion challenge with the animal theme. The jellies that emerged out of my kiln are really all because I stumbled across a very large, glossy coffee table book about jellies one day at the library. I fell in and got lost for weeks. As a result, strange things happened in the studio...
Wow! This would have taken some skill. I looooovee watching artisans do their thing. DO you think you could record or time lapse your next glass work session? I would love to see it!
That's a great question, Nathenial. I can take shots of different stages, but I can't really record the magic that happens inside the kiln during a firing. Stay tuned for curious projects and I will likely post process stages with final projects.
glass must be fun.
I majored in ceramics so know of the magic of the kiln.
beautiful work my dear, really beautiful.
I love jellies
Thanks so much! Glad you like it and can appreciate kiln work.
Glass must be quite different from ceramics and glazes.
more different from this is probably hard, and yet at the same time I see the same things at work.
I hope to see more of your work, that's for sure.
I hope you don't fall through my steemit cracks.
Don't be afraid to spam me your links, if you know what I mean.
I am on discord with the same name.
