To meet the theme of the competition I decided to use the four elements in a fantasy drawing, which inspired me to draw a woman with fire hair. I used coloured pencils, markers and frost for the development of my painting.
Here I show you the final result of my work:
Step by step
The first thing I did was the pencil drawing.
I began to give color and dimension to the hair, using warm tones to give the illusion of the element fire.
I continued working a little more on the hair focusing on the ends to achieve the fading of the fire.
I worked the sky using different shades of blue and to give it more intensity I used a little gray and black.
To give body to the mountains I used warm tones and to give depth I applied the black color.
On this occasion I painted the trees with grey and black tones to give an effect of cloudiness and remoteness. To give the impression of air in the environment I gave movement to the branches towards the same direction.
I gave life to the image adding flowers of different colors, to break a little with the range of warm tones I chose to use the blue color to make a contrast that highlights between the colors used.
To give the effect of the rain I used a white pencil, I made small and soft strokes with a certain inclination to give the illusion of breeze in the environment.
Finally, the butterfly I drew on the woman's hair gave it a touch of fantasy using golden frost.
