Ironthrone series, Daenerys on Ironthrone

This is my first drawing of my Ironthrone series, Daenerys and her tamed dragon Drogon.

I made it in watercolors and colored pencils. I really enjoyed it although it isn´ t anatomicaly or technically drawn well. First of all I´ ve done a cople of studies(dragon head, Daenerys face and figure, composition in frame), then a big challenge appeared > drawing of Ironthrone. I can´ t say it´ s all the same as in TV series. So I did it the best I could. I was focusing on proportions and disposition while drawing lineart. Then I put down the first layer of watercolor wash. I must confess it was not a clever choice, because later when started with colored pencils it was a bit messy and unclear, so I realized that when base is being done I have to be really accurate with it. The previous steps were realatively quick and the slowest part begun>>> colored pencils. :D It took me approximately 15h to finish. 15h of just colored pencils part. I can say that according to this technique it is a small amount of time though. Hyper-realists can spend 40+ hours to draw everything perfectly. My drawing was not ment to be hyper-realistic. When I colored it I have to get regards on where source of light or shadows are. Mixing colors was not a big deal, because there is majority of black and red in the picture.

I wanted to dragon´ s majesty pop up and think I done it middling. Dragons anatomy is quite illogical, but well, was my first complex and original art after a long break from drawing, so I was and still am happy how it turned out!:) I have to mention how difficult for me was to color up Dany´ s face, it turned out as cartoonish-like thing, but I am OK with that.
