Painting the city of Paris is not only fun but a favorite location of many painters.
As always, I will give five chances to win this original digital painting for free. See below.

Maybe it is the rivers that bring out the edges of the city? Maybe it's the style of architecture of the buildings? No, I think Paris brings out the romance in each one of us. Drawing us back time after time.

As always I start with an under painting or drawing. This helps me build the composition and keep things flowing in the painting. This is very important in my work. It does take a few drawings to get everything into place but the final painting is much stronger I believe. It also helps me work out any problems with the painting early on. I try to get my composition and contrast in so when I lay in each layer it will be easier for me.
As I start my painting I look over my drawings and remember the air of the city of lights. The smell of the river and the hustle and bustle of the city. Like a living thing that moves about. Fine dressed men and woman strolling down the sidewalks towards there busy lives.

I start laying in my first colors using layers and glazes. This helps me choose the color pallet for the painting. If I don't like the color, contrast, or hue I just adjust it. Much easier then oil painting.
I try to bring out the feel of the city in my painting. The colors, the edges, the textures. I blend and smudge my way around the painting. Color picking blends along the way. But keeping the pallet simple.

Beautiful as always my dear, hope I can win something!
