You re right when you speak about drawing in 3D and not something from a picture ! We have to analyse volume/perspective.
Have to practice with something real !

Yes, everyone needs to have something to refer to in the beginning of their journey. As I mentioned in the post take ideas and reference to understand perspective and how something appears in the real world, from there transform it into something your own.
