| Like my post before Jenny Saville i thought i want to present you a contemporary art position of a woman again, who is a really controversial artist and belongs to the YBA "young british artists". Tracey Emn is born 1963 in Croydon, London but grew up in a conservative city Margate on the south coast of great Britain. In her works she speaks mostly about the issues of her own biography. Her installations and paintings behaving like a treatment for herself. She is radically honest to the public like the most would never think about to speak about these private belongings, like experience about being raped and other dark sides of life. Below you can find an interview with her and a second video where they speaking about the work "my bed" | Genau wie in meinem letzten Post über Jenny Saville möchte ich auch diesmal eine zeitgenössische Künstlerin vorstellen, die auch zur Generation der jungen Britischen Künstler zählt. Sie wurde 1963 in Croydon, London geboren und wuchs in der konservativen Stadt Margate auf. Ihre Arbeiten drehen sich vornehmlich um ihre eigene Biografie und vorallem um die Abgründe, wie Vergewaltigungen und depressive Phasen die sie durchlitten hat. Sie erzählt von Selbstaufgabe, Körperlichkeit und Sexualität. Ihre wohl bekannteste Arbeit ist ihr eigenes Bett, welches sie 2015 in der Tate Modern ausstellte. Im Anhang findet ihr ein Video mit ihrem eigenen Kommentar zu ihrem Werk "my bed". |
