LET'S CREATE! MAKE ART, CRAFTS, SHARE YOURSELF ON STEEMIT!

in #art7 years ago

Hello dear steemers!!

I have taken the initiative to put myself out there. We are all striving for something more in our lives, some unique way of expressing ourselves. And through art we can peel some layers of ourselves and promote creativity within our daily lives, which to me has become a vital necessity.

I hope I can eventually see more of this on #steemit :)

Here I will upload some one my works with a few descriptions and let that help break my shell of uncertainty and insecurity. We are all special, we all have magick in our spirit and possibilities to channel that force with greater courage and less self-doubt. It isn't easy to create things, to put our energy and emotions into an artistic framework and then face to big world with them. I've realized that most often than not, our minds are the biggest enablers or...disablers! If we let thoughts of self-doubt seep into our mind....we start believing them. And that is the most common thing I've noticed around me, especially women!!!

To the #women around me

you are #powerful #strong and #able. You have magick sparkling in every single pore of your body, creativity flows through your veins and heart, unleash it! Share it with all of us. How many women I have met on my path with incredible potential, intelligent, witty and beautiful, but never let those qualities sink in and become the fuelling force.

SO....Get out there, promote your creations, share with the world your wonders! We are all here to support and enable the opening of infinite doors!

I will share below piece of my art and crafts, maybe this will motivate others to do the same!

Pop-artish feminine touch

Feminine touch. In this piece I attempted to address, in a very simple manner, this concept of 'gender socialization'. We are taught at a very young age what our roles in society are by virtue of our gender. One element I still see present is these rigid categories, for instance, are the colours 'associations' to gender. Blue is masculine and pink is feminine. I chose to pain miss lady-legs-in-the-air on the blue shade, whilst still incorporating the pink hue. As one of my permaculture teachers said, 'you are both genders, with an added 1% to either the masculine or feminine side. I am 51% woman and 49% man. I feel this very strongly in myself and through this very simple yet meaningful painting I found a way to send a message.

Heart under the moonlight

My next painting is very dear to me because I had made it right after a sensitive break-up. I felt so vulnerable and exposed, my heart felt so confused. What helped me a lot was this reminder than nature keep going, nothing really stops evolving around us. No matter what difficult circumstance you find yourself in, it is temporary. The moon, which has always symbolized the feminine force in my life, kept shining and glowing over me every night, until I chose to move forward and start healing.
So in this painting you can see the elements of nature present, the heart on the exposed tree, leafless and bare under the full moon. Water underneath is also an element of flowing, of transgression and ever changing. And so it goes, my inner tree bloomed again, learned more about myself and stood stronger on my two feet.

Tropical feline

The next piece touches a lot upon the symbolism of 'spirit animas'. I've always felt drawn to feline energy, more precisely wild cats. Since I was little I found myself admiring the character 'Bagheera' in The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. this panther qualities resonated a lot in myself. I also remember when I was born, I was full of hair and climbing on every surface possible, this is how I got the nickname 'Bagheera" from my grand mother. This name followed me until today.
Here I painted a white tiger, in a tropical setting, with flowers that mean a lot to me. The humming bird is also very close to my heart, alongside the beautiful hibiscus. heliconia and bird of paradise, which is my favourite plant.
I am part tropical in my spirit and this is a painting dedicated to that,

Golden Woman

One more painting I will upload here is my golden woman. I tried to experiment with papier mache, I used an old recycled phone book, chopped up pieces of it and made the texture of the hair. I feel that throughout our lives we encounter so many people, so many teachings and expansions that some if it lingers with us. All those details in the hair represent just that, all the people that have crossed our path. Then I added the golden leaf layers the neck because...well, to me women are golden. They are special and radiant. This was a way to celebrate us and have some fun while doing such a piece.

Bagheera

I enjoyed the art a lot. Thanks to @trucklife-family, I found you out. :D

Oh wonderful, it really warms my heart to have people reach out and connect with me. Truly beautiful <3

Bagheera, I feel proud to share that I am a feminist. Your first paint spoke volumes to me. I loved the simplicity in your art and the choice of colors. You are right. Colors are associated to the genders. It destroys both the genders. The second painting, even though you drew it after your break up, was more motivating than sad. Your prosaic explanation to the poetry of your paints was beautiful too. I liked the third and fourth paintings, but the first two were my favorites.

These are so beautiful, thank you so much for sharing them with us on here. I really love the golden woman. Resteemed

Guys!!!! Big big thank you! It means a lot to me. Each one powers the other and more doors open, within and arounds us! Lots of love to you xxx

I really liked the Golden woman and especially like your interpretation of the woman's hair. It's cool, that in one creation are combined many kinds of creativity. And Yes, gold around the neck is great .

Exactly! The golden woman is very close to my heart! I am glad to see you talk about it in the manner. Lets keep the creative momentum! Love xxx
