As promised, today starts the Loved by the Sun character biography series. My hopes are to introduce you to the main characters of the novel, and allow you to know a bit about them and why they are prevalent in the novel series.
Without further adieu, I present to you:
To start the series, I thought it best to introduce to you Riobard Ivarius, King of Ivory Glen.
Riobard Ivarius was born on the 8th of Avi'arris, in the year 2055. As a young prince, Riobard showed steady interest in the matters of the kingdom, always inquiring of the state of the people. His father, King Rhemen Ivarius, dedicated his attention to the state of the kingdom's military over all other matters, ensuring that they remained the strongest and most powerful in the continent of Neotericus. Riobard was taught that, if your armed forces are strong, everything else will follow suit. Thus, at the age of fifteen, Riobard was commissioned in the Army of Ivory Glen.
He was taught military tactics, and endured rigorous combat training with sword and bow, as well as horsemanship. At the age of twenty, Riobard was commanding his own battalion, often fighting alongside their southern allies of Silvervale in campaigns to the north when military forces from Raven Caw made attempts to claim territories that would bring them too close to the kingdom's borders.
Several battles saw Riobard fighting shoulder to shoulder with his father, pushing back the Raven Caw forces with each victory achieved. It was during the final push that King Rhemen suffered a fatal wound from a well-placed arrow that pierced his throat. As the king fell, the soldiers looked to Riobard's leadership to bring them to victory, neutralizing the Raven Caw threat and bringing peace to the northern territories that lay between the Darkfall and Gelid mountains.
Riobard was twenty five years old when his father fell on the battlefield, and with a heavy heart, he took the crown and was named King of Ivory Glen.
By the age of thirty, Riobard had implemented his own laws which focused more upon the welfare of the citizens while applying militaristic strategies for defense of the kingdom's borders instead of engaging in campaigns elsewhere. This change brought prosperity to the land, as less platinum was needed for military campaigns and was used to mine the valuable ore of white mythril, which the rolling hills of Ivory Glen held countless veins within.
King Riobard married his queen, Joanelise Greyhelm, on the fourteenth day of Sol'anica, in the year 2088. Together, they ensured the welfare of their kingdom's citizens above all other matters of the kingdom, gaining the undying love of their people. The chief deity of the pantheon, Soleil, was pleased with Riobard and Joanelise, not only for their devotion to their people, but their praise and worship and constant prayer to him and the service of his will.
For this, Soleil blessed them with the gift of his daughter, granting the clerics the prophecy of her arrival and the promise of peace and prosperity to spread across the entire continent, and eventually the entire world. She would be human, however she would be the most pure mortal to ever exist in Pelmythia, and her divine power would only grow.
On the day of her birth, strange things began to occur, causing King Riobard to once again draw his sword...
And that, my friends, is where I leave the story to unfold in Loved by the Sun, available November 30, 2018.
Thanks for visiting. I do hope you have enjoyed this biography. There are more characters to be introduced, so stay in touch. Until next we meet...

Argh! Just when I was drawn in. I wonder what happened. Invaders?
King Riobard is like a character I used to develop: Drazen, Captain of the First Guard. They are both strong, began their military careers at young age and marry the loves of their lives. Except mine doesn't get to be king.
It feels awesome to read something from a kindred mind. I can't wait to read your novel.
Congratulations on the curie upvote
Blessings
Many thanks for your interest in King Riobard. And strange, curious things occur, that's where Loved by the Sun begins. Only 27 more days until the release; I'll post updates as well as further character biographies. Thanks again!
Thank you for such great description of Riobard, his whole appearance is of the brave knight, the armor of a prince well done, the characters of the pattern probably specific for the country where he is coming from. I like history and the old time of Kingdom and their battle, although in reality probably will not be volunteered to visit such place. The map shows the huge territory and situated at the coast probably gives an opportunity to travel too :)
I am very pleased that you enjoyed reading about King Riobard and your interest in Ivory Glen. A little insider secret: I based the country of Ivory Glen off the real life country of Greece (although I've never been there, only in videos and pictures). You've only seen a fraction of the map of Neotericus with this entry, however. I'm glad you enjoyed my post, thank you for reading it!
I like that even though he was taught to fight, he changed his life completely and together with his wife they took care of the well-being of their people and kingdom.
I can't wait to read about what were these strange things that made him fight again. Such a peaceful king of such a big land!
You detailed your illustration very nicely. I like his huge shoulders :) He really looks like a king :)
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for reading the biography, and I am happy that you like King Riobard. The images of him are screenshots taken from the PC version of Skyrim: The Legendary Edition. I am a digital artist, however I lack the patience to draw something from scratch, so I used the character generator and downloaded mods to come up with the look I wanted for King Riobard. I'll post further biographies of the other characters between now and the release date on November 30th. Thank you for your interest!
Hi tropicalwolf79,

Sooo Skyrim is still the thing? Wow I thought it was kinda mania as the Fortnite nowadays. But let's see, maybe in 2 years people will be writing stories about Fortnite as well haha :D
Looks like He is just using skyrim for the art, kinda like using Poser, Cannot wait to see the full thing!
Yepp I get it :D That's why I said that maybe people will be using Fortnite in couple of years to write stories about those characters :D
I was using the character creation engine of Skyrim for the characters of my high fantasy world Pelmythia. I'm honestly not sure that Skyrim will ever die, with more and more mods coming out for it lol. Maybe when they actually release The Elder Scrolls 6, Skyrim may fade into the shadows, but until then, that's the best we've got to work with lol.
