Since the upcoming of internet artistic talent has been faced with the dilemma of exposure versus gratuity.

How many hours of unpaid work have artist just freely shared over the years ?

How many times have you come across a work of art that took your breath away while you were just browsing social medias ?

How many of these types of articles have we come across over the years ? : https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/how-the-internet-financially-kills-musicians-and-other-artists/2017/05/12/10772e56-0f15-11e7-ab07-07d9f521f6b5_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.65192458ba7f

It seems that the culture of freedom on internet, dear to many, artists included, has impacted the value of artistic content.

The alternatives such as centralized social medias such as Facebook or Instagram are really only rewarding the top 1% of the content creators.

What about the other 99% you ask ?

What if decentralized social media was the answer ?

That is the wonderful idea behind steemit but what if we gave the artists who have been wronged for so long the dedicated decentralized community platform they deserved ?

A platform dedicated to artists and art aficionados to share, engage and reward each other’s using the steem blockchain, what if this platform was also a place for artists to sell their work to potential buyers ? Or engage in artistic collaborations or contests in a focused ecosystem truly build for them ?

That is the concept behind the newest member of the steem community, Artisteem.

The beta opens the 16 of July and stemians can just join using their steemit account and checkout for themselves.
