Artists are given a special license. A license to break the rules in expression. To be abstract and alternative.

The nephew is one of these budding artists and also the reason behind this post.
Who are we to judge an artists work if we do not understand it?
The nephew is big on helicopters and drawing them was a big thing a year ago. The end art work here did not resemble a helicopter to my eye. Everything was on the chalk board though. If I had a picture of this I would show it. a big body with a tiny tail on it. The tail was remembered after the big body of the copter was made and its window added. It also covered the chalk board from top to bottom just about. The propellers had to go over the window as there was not enough height to put them on top. Also for the wheel or landing struts, there was very little room, Somehow he managed to put in the struts and also give those struts 4 legs. The legs got explained as "That's so it can walk around when it is on the ground". Perfect sense why didn't I think of that.

He comes around on a Sunday gives the parents a break for a few hours One of the Sunday he comes into the kitchen and asks. "Can I paint?". Mom won't be here for a few hours yet so why not. Out comes all the painting stuff of which most will not get used. Sheets of paper to paint a line on and start a new one with. His apron on so not to ruin his clothes.

I might be making this sound a bigger deal than it is.

There is a few dishes left over from dinner in the sink soaking. Can do those while keeping an eye on him in case he needs anything. Throw out the cold water. a fresh splash of the bubbly stuff new hot water and away I go washing the dishes while he makes a mess in another part of the kitchen.

Three or four dishes into the chore he is down from the table and off again.
"Hey", "Where ye goin'?".
"To watch the tele" (tv)
"Oh, I thought you were going to paint?"
"I did".
"There's nothing on the paper"
"I painted all the colours black"
