This week's kaleidoscope features a red and grey glazed earthenware sculpture that carries a stainless steel barrel as the body of the scope. The clay layers are each freestanding and gradually change shape to mimic the spiralling shapes that can sometimes be found in fire and smoke.
On the other side you can see the glass wheel that you actually look at and spin when peering through the viewing end.
Pointed at a strong light source, this toy can provide endless hours of fascination or just make a strong statement at the end of the hallway by the spiral stairs.
Just another strange creation from my studio!
This is just so unique. The deep creativity you found the form this piece speaks volumes for your level of talent. Now following you. Where about's are you located here in Canada. Do you have a studio? Thanks
Thanks, glad you like it. I'm in Ontario. I have a studio and I also run a collaborative gallery in the heart of the art district of Hamilton. And I also like gardening... Following back!
Aww too bad the gallery is all the way in Hamilton, that is like a 6 hour drive for me. Maybe next time I am in the GTA I will have to take a trip your way and hunt for your gallery. Thanks
Where are you?

Renfrew County or the Ottawa Valley. Thank you I am going to go and check it out.
This is just such a beautiful creation. I hope to one day have one of your awesome toys haha!!

Hey thanks! Glad you like it. I'd be happy to send something interesting off to you, if it suited.
I would have to say that is completely up to you haha!!
Really beautiful. I love the way you mix the different material. Any chance you could take a photo of what they look like through the eyepiece?
I agree about including an internal view. This piece sold a few years ago and I don't know that I got a specific set of shots from the inside of this one. The link I have tried to add here may be from this one, or from a different one, sorry I don't know. I was making loads of strange scopes and it's actually tricky to get good shots when the eyepiece is only 1/2" diameter. Also, I can't figure out how to post a link into the replies.. Any clues here? I don't know if this will work...

I think you can right click in your browser and copy url for an image and then just paste into your reply. I've never actually tried it. Looking forward to seeing some
I agree with ammonite, seeing inside should be nice. That will give a new dimension to your posts. Did you tried with your phone?
I understand and I have some shots from the internal view of other scopes. Back when I made these I didn't always take photos from the inside of each one specifically. See above response... I can't get at it now since it sold a few years back. My bad... I will include internal views with the next posts.
That is an amazing piece of art that would go well in any household for sure!
Thanks bro! Lots more where this came from.
Hope to see it :)
Nice scuplture!!!
Would buy one like this :D
Thank you! Glad you like it. This one is sold, but various other are still up for grabs in case you're interested!
Well not really at the moment as I recently kinda fled from my country and don't really have a permanent place to call home where I could put one of your amazing sculptures.
checked you website and I like those of the Light series :D
Oh my! For sure, I understand. Thank you for just being curious and appreciative. Blessings on your journey to settle and find home!
Oh, and I will probably share my light series in the next months at some point. There's a lot more behind the scenes than I have on my website! More coming!
