My first oil colour painting

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hi steemit creative art fans,

I would like to present today my two new experiments. I have been drawing with pencils for years but was always fascinated by paintings especially oil painting. My hubby heard it many times and this Christmas his presents were easel, couple of canvases and oil colours.

I had to read much before I started and watch few video, one of the best I liked was from russian artist. Igor Sakharov, absolutely brilliant teacher.
This is my first experiment, I know it is not the best, but now I know how to use brushes, mix colours and how it looks after colour dries up. This picture on my wall just to remand how I started to see the difference may be few years later.

This another picture I have done couple of years ago just to try water colours, it was quick difficult as you know it is hard to control water colour when it is on paper. Anyway, I am happy with the result. I don#t mean to compete with Leonardo da Vinci but I mean I am satisfied with my colour mixture. But I will probably never use again water colour :)

Thanks a lot for seeing my pics, Karly

Good work. Did you try acrylic?

Yes, but only on aquarelle paper and it was just after water colour. I liked it, you can do some texture too but I could not get a colour right when mixed them. I still think I will come back to acrylic colours, will probably try on canvas. What about yourself?

Lately I only paint acrylic on canvas, it suits me best. I think it takes a bit of time to get used to it but the colors are great. I like it especially because it dries quickly,( with the hairdryer, even faster )

то что я рисую - лежит тут instagram/sirena.sana

etsy.com - это такой ebay для художников и всякого хэндмэйда

I love that boat :)

WOW! Thanks for sharing this @stef1. Good luck with your art. Steem on! :)

Thanks, was very nice to hear you liked it!

Just keep doing it from the heart, and I know it will always turn out well. Bless you.

I love boats, especially those with sails. And your paint have really harmonious colors, great!

I love sails too, especially vintage with cannons, it is my next project. Hope you will be able to see soon. As I am full time work, then I have only weekends for that, unfortunately :(

Congratulations @stef1!
