Have you seen a line or a sketch? ...and or both?
Art can be expressed in so many ways; it is beyond in each and everyone's perception. How do you see things in your mind and how do you bring those ones into reality?
"It is the function of Art to renew our perception. What we are familiar with we cease to see. The writer shakes up the familiar scene, and, as if by magic, we see a new meaning in it." - Anais Nin
For the Second Art Guide...
"Make a Human Through Lines!"
Materials needed are...
- bondpaper
- pencil
- MyGel Ballpen
- Ruler / Something Straight
How It Was Done...
Basically, first thing's first is to have the proper division for the face. Draw a half big oblong and divide it into proportions for eyes, nose, lips, and ear.
Our goal is not to sketch but to stroke each line to form the human face. Don't be serious in putting and drawing lines, just have fun making triangles!
Now get your ruler or any straight material that will serve as your guide when making lines.
What you'll have to do is to follow the strokes and shadows of human face and continue making lines!
In making the lips, we wanted it to be pouty to have some drama.
Try to not be confused on the shadows when making the nose, it may destruct your whole piece.
And then the eye, make it just simple.
Have some strokes on the left side to make it even.
Add some hair on it and it's 100% done! It took an hour for @mikekenlytungal to finish this.
So basically, the main steps for this piece are:
1. Create an outline and guide.
2. Start stroking lines!
It's time to bring back the passion you've once lost!
Each week, SteemPh-Cebu will make an Art Guide ( step by step drawing, sketching, painting etc). This is to inspire all Steemians, especially the Cebuanos, to create and share their passion on art. The Weekly Art Guide's main objectives are:
- Give an inspiration to all aspiring Steemian artists.
- Develop and enhance all individual's drawing / sketching / painting skills.
- Discover somebody's potential.
- Show how a piece is done in the simplest way.
- Give an excitement such as drawing contests etc.
Always follow @steemph.cebu for more!

Wicked, simple and super inspiring! I'm off to find my pen!
Nice job dear. As a lazy artist, whenever I try to make line art, I never attempt to use pencils because for one I am really very lazy to sharpen my pencils. This would often lead me then to ommit mistakes. I tend to throw a lot of my line art artworks then. But on the other hand, it is time saving.
oh my words i cant even draw straight lines perfectly and then here is this mate piece. amazing work.
Hi, I'm from Cebu. Do you have tutorials/contests for other types of art? Let's say the fiber arts, like crochet? :) I would love to join.
