Today I wanted to reproduce a pose of the head of a man that I saw in the painting of "In the conservatory" by the famous painter Manet. I didn't want to reproduce exactly that man, but just to study that pose and so I simply used one of my brush (just one brush 1 cm /0.4") and some oil colors that I had on my palette.
This was beacuse this Summer I'm watching many different docu movies about artists of the past and so I use them like inspiration for my daily exercises. I have a little table close to the tv and so I place myself there while I'm watching the docu movie, so I'm studing different styles, different tecniques and different poses, learning something new every day ^_^
When I simply want to exercise my hand in a different pose of the subject, for me it's not important to add many details or to work better on the shades of the different colors, the important is to focus my attention on every part of the lines, the highlights and the shadows that compose that specific pose.
It was just an exercise, but I'm satisfied by the result ^_^
See ya soon
