19x29cm. oil on wood. Ibiza 2018.

This is the latest little one I have worked on. It´s one in a series that work with a similar technique and colours.

I hope you like this one, more to come.

Looks like bones with contrast material. The blue and light brown shades combination was a really good idea, they blend well. I love it! Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Thank you Erikah!

Thanks for sharing your work! I think blue works exceedingly well with brownish colors! The figures remind me of some microscopic organisms or even alien life forms... I love how you let your hand and imagination roam wild...

Thank you Organduo!

Beautiful painting!! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Kathrina!

Very colorful. I like the yellow-blue combination. It looks like an astronomical space, is it? Or microscope elements?

Oil on wood. You mean wood is your canvass? Is it not hard for oil to stick or penetrate on wood? Won't it drip over time?

I have been painting on wood for the past 20 years and I love it. I find canvases are not solid enough. I treat the wood with a base cover and also sand it soft. The wood is what we call in Spain, Tablero marino, meaning it is used to make boats and these panels don´t move. Thank you for the interest. I hope this helps you make a picture of what the base is made of.

Now I realized, it sounds like using wood is more practical and durable than painting on canvass and putting it on a frame. Yes, that helps me to have a better idea of what you are using so thank you! 😊

Hey @romanie, thank you for sharing your work with us. It is a very unique oil on wood artwork. It does look like cells to me. The mix of brown and blue is pretty. What was your inspiration for this work?

My inspiration is just to work on enhancing some parts of the colours. No plan, Just play with colour, light and shape.

Nice... No plan is the best plan I think :) Thank you again @romanie. I wish you a good weekend!

Excellent painting, its abstract form does not allow me yet to really define what I am seeing, it can mean many things to me. It really is a great job, thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you for looking into the piece!

I don't know what to say .. I'm speechless. I've been watching for a while and this is what I think.

On the one hand, the first thing that came to my mind was an eye. but then it was a map of the world.

and while I was writing this comment I gave the last glance and now it was a nebula.

amazing! I loved it.

Thank you Wisej! Thank you for sharing the experience!

Like always with your work, I feel I can see from two perspectives : I see either islands from the air, or organic things inside something bigger.

I love this :)

Thank you Berien! :-)

today I was talking with my friends about eating mushrooms with psilocybine and watching deeply this kind of trippy artworks. This one looks like a birth underwater but who knows what kind of interpretation might psilocybine bring :)
Nice Artwork !

Thank you Cubapl

Very nice, @romanie ! I remember you had a few bases that you were working on and it is nice to see another one of those reached a finish :)

Somehow this one makes me a little sad, there is a emotion of breaking or of a world breaking when I look at it...

It is beautiful, though, I really love the colours and forms :)

Congratulations for curie, as well <3

Thanks for sharing the emotion you got! it works!

A very unique and one of a kind painting!

100% original @romanie a beautiful painting, I liked all your work the colors and the idea is as if you took it from another world that impacted me very beautiful @neymarth10 greeting is seeing the next painting

Thank you Neymarth!

Howdy from Texas sir romanie! Well sir, I don't know what the painting is of or about but I really like the colors. The blues are very rich and go so nicely with the tan and browns.
Is all of your work similar in style or do you do a variety of styles?
Thank you this is a great piece!

I have gone though a few phases in the past. If you look at my web www.romanie.net you can see in Galleries the different years. Thank you for stopping by. Best wishes.

howdy again romanie! Thank you so much for the explanation and best wishes!

Thank you for sharing this painting, love the choice of the colors and how you build it up more darker at the bottom lighter on the top, it is like a complex organism that in process of growing, when we think about nervous system there are many little nerves like strings, all connected to each other. Like abstract painting because everyone can see something that can differ from the imagination of other once , we interpret on our own way. Oil on wood is great for the decoration of interior :)

Thank you Stef!

This is very different to what I'm used to see from you Romanie! I understand that those other paintings were older so I'm happy to see how your style developed over the years.

I like the abstractness here. Blue, green, yellow, orange and gold goes together very well. The shapes are very interesting and those two round things on top look like they were bursting. Or is it an alien? :) Who knows!

Thank you for sharing another great piece of your art! Congratulations on the curie vote! I love to see you being rewarded!

Thank you for noticing this one and how they are different to my other older pieces, there is a change happening in my work!

Take time to relax and learn to paint with either acrylic or oil paints in this class (student’s choice). Students will learn to paint from references – either photographs and/or still life sets. Students can bring in their own photographs to paint. By the last day of class, students will have the skills necessary to continue painting on their own, or advance to another class.

@romanie, this was a pretty piece of art work. and thank you sharing with us. When i looked at the painting, I imagine it as the surface of earth which view from the top. The blue color was the ocean and brown color were mountains in middle of the ocean. What a good abstraction of art work. Glad that you have shared it with us.

This has a really interesting look and feel! Some part of it looks like its part of a plant (like its root hairs), others, not sure... What was it supposed to look like?

I love the colors you used, it gave the painting a really vibrant look... The blue...

Thank you Audrey! it wasn´t supposed to be anything.... just flowing with the shapes. I let each person interpret freely!

Oh... Let me go crazy with the interpretation then! Lol!

Hi @romanie, this is lovely work and on wood too! I never thought painting was done on wood, i guess i have learnt something today. The result is lovely too and full of colours . I love bright paintings just like this one although yours is outstanding with its uniqieness.

Congrats on your curie upvote too!

Thank you Barakexpansion! Wood is quite common in the art world but not many people use it today!
