Short note on being a craft man in times of digital matters.

in #art9 years ago (edited)

When I read the various articles of this STEEM community, I notice that most of the discussed issues deals with the latest developments of this platform. On how it works and the many possibilities, the future perspectives. About bitcoins and ethereum, peer to peer, dyscription keys, blockchain, often in an abbreviated slang language.
But to be honest, for me, it remains all abstract terms and thoughts. In order to get even one little barrel of what is happening, I have to look up almost everything or ask my friend @omarb to explain me more about a specific issue. And even then, I don't understand everything to the fullest.

My mind works differently. Even though I am, in my field, an abstract thinker and philosopher. This ' digital matter ' ask much more from me to understand and I want to understand everything in detail. Maybe that's my problem. At the same time I realize very well that we have entered the digital age, where things speed up exponentially. It will change and reform our society completely, I realize very well! When a matter a fact, I don't want to stay behind, because all this intrigues and interests me.

When it comes to encryption I am an illiterate.

My generation has lived through the years of transition from analog to digital. I have learned to work with a computer, purely executive and in function of my Visual work. And for my generation, If I may say so, I am reasonably informed about the latest developments (Much younger friends make a difference here). And yet there's a substantial lag I cannot keep up, though.
The fact remains; I am a craftsman. So how do I keep up with the latest developments? Is it really necessary to understand completely, in order to participate and grow?
To date I have no conclusive answers to these questions and find solace in the fact that every development keeps the openness for personal interpretation...
It's all 'bout learning by playing and persevere is the message!

To be honest, steem and steemit is on the cutting edge of the internet, and yes, it will be complicated and hard to understand.

But you've already identified what it can do... You can write a few paragraphs, and have someone read your words without having to use Google to see you.

You asked: "I am a craftsman. So how do I keep up with the latest developments?"

Answer: Just talk about yourself, same as this post. Engage the people looking for interesting people. Share your life experiences... we want to hear about those. It is already working. How do you know that? I just took 2 minutes out of my finite life to write this to you. :)

Hi intelliguy! Just loved your response !
Indeed like Romaan says; positive thoughts, just what I like.
My positive sequel on my first story is ready to post, tomorrow.
Manners and respect

Thanks for sharing your positive thoughts with me intelliguy.
Even though It took only two minutes of your finite life, It's truly an extra stimulation. And that's the impact and meaning of this whole new platform, I guess. It is all about sharing and exchanging personal experiences and thought, to grow along with it, little by little.

Smile to you 😋 Too!

Hey there, in most of my posts regarding cryptocurrencies, I've always tried to write it abstractly, trying to connect with the layman - also coming from someone who was previously illiterate until spending countless nights trying to dabble in it :). I think its important to have all sorts of people in the mix - maximum diversity breeds more ideas that even hardcore cryptoenthusiasts couldn't see sometimes. Thanks and I will take my time to read your writings.

I think your insights are fascinating.
I exist between art and technology. I think this is what the Internet was supposed to be. I'm sorry I missed
This post earlier. I'd like to see more of your art
