King of Nowhere Rules Nothing

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Hello new Steemian friends! Today I bring to you a brand new artwork that I completed only a few hours ago. I received the design from a friend of mine, J. And I love his design, it is STUNNING.

and so, I spent some time on a drawing of him. Here's the process, if you'd like to see!:

And finally..!:

He's a deity who rules over a flooded city. Someone stole something of his, forcing him into a more nascent and ever shifting shape.

This artwork was created with photoshop CS6 and my handy, dandy wacom intuos!
I am available for commissions! Check >>here<< for my price list and terms!

Thanks, everyone!

oh, wow..! Thank you so much!!

It is a great creature, quite original, you have done it in an excellent way. By the way, I tried to open the link that you left in the publication, for some reason it did not work for me. Regards!

thanks for the kind words! And too, for the heads up about the link! It should (hopefully!) be fixed now :D

I'm trying to relate the drawing with the first photo. I suppose the drawing is the head of that on the first photo, is it? You have a very good and creative imagination to have come up with such creature (or deity) but I can't figure out what it is. What kind of deity is it? I thought it's a dragon-shape but I'm not sure...

you are correct :D The drawing I have done is just a close-up on his head and neck.
He's a deity who was summoned to bless the land with water, but the ceremony that brought him into this realm was incomplete. As such, he has appeared as a nascent, half-formed creature who is constantly shifting and changing it's shape. He has no solid, 'real' form to settle into :] He is nothing, with the potential to become anything.

He is nothing, with the potential to become anything.

Now that's scary. If I have to hide from it then I would never know if that is him or a different ghost. 😃

Very lovely creature, elegant and graceful. It is an accomplishment that you can define this creature completely in white colour, for me that is more difficult to do than any other colour.

Congratulations on your first curie, beeschan ^_^!

thank you so much, Boss!! * v* Your comments always make me so happy!
White is one of my favorite 'colors' to work with, in that it can be any or every color at once!

If I understand correctly, the first drawing has inspired your drawing? I'm just asking as the head that you created doesn't seem to belong to the creature on the first photo :)

On the first photo it looks like something between a dragon and a swan - which I find a great creative idea. And I like the reflection in the water too.

The second drawing looks more like a dragon combined with an ice bear :) Which is also a lovely idea! I like his long neck and lots of hair, but it must be very uncomfortable as it can't see through its fringe :)

Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed figuring out what this creature could be :)

thank you kindly! :D
They are the same character in both images, but my drawing features only a close-up on it's head and neck. He is a nascent, misshapen creature who is constantly shifting and changing it's shape--with no solid, 'real' form to settle into * U* He is nothing, with the potential of becoming anything.

I am happy you like him!

@painted-bees, I love this drawing. At first, I thought it was a swan, but when look closer it was not :p. It was so beautiful. For me white is not easy to paint, but you have paint and present it well. Especially on how you draw the reflection in the water. It looks real especially with the water wave. I love how you draw the fur also, you have taken care of the details perfectly. The process you shown on how you complete the work also help us to understand more on how you completed your work. You took long long to complete this drawing since you took care a lot of details in the drawing

Great job!

reminds me Gerald Scarfe's animation with "flowers" for Pink Floyd The Wall which you can see under this link from Pinterest

Purely fantastic final effect of your drawing, somehow touching me personally :)

Beautifully done Artwork, it reminds me a dragon, sharp teeth, no eyes, that makes me think that he probably can feel everything with its tongue, probably he saw something enjoyable so that saliva is dripping from his mouth. Well created process steps and perfect result :)
