Yoo-hoo! Happy January 4th, 2025 — the Year of the Snake! 🐍

My previous post about cave art is still on my mind, and I started wondering: how would ancient people depict a snake if it were the symbol of their year?

In many cultures, the snake symbolizes wisdom, transformation, fertility, and even danger. But for ancient people, it might have held even deeper meanings. Imagine: a snake drawing appears on a cave wall, representing not only fear but also protection or a connection with the spirits. It could have been something simple yet filled with profound symbolism.

Of course, this is just speculation, but what we do know for sure is how the art of that time looked. Silhouettes, simple outlines, minimal detail—but each stroke carried strong emotional weight. And the best part is, this kind of art is accessible to everyone, regardless of skill level.

Now, I invite you to get creative! Let’s try creating your own symbol for the year 2025 in the style of cave art. It could be anything: a snake, the sun, a tree, or even something abstract that expresses your hopes and dreams for this year. The key is to capture the spirit of simplicity and emotion.

Think about what symbols, besides a snake, you’d like to draw. Try sketching them in simple shapes. For me, it’s the sun, a tree, and a snake.

Now combine them into one composition. But don’t overdo the details—remember, we’re drawing like ancient people. The main goal is to enjoy the process.

And here’s my version!

By the way, your drawing doesn’t have to stay on paper or canvas. Why not turn it into a digital format and create an NFT? Who knows—your symbol might become part of history and inspiration for future generations.

I’d love to see your works or ideas in the comments. Together, we can create something unique, modern, and deeply symbolic.
