For a quick minute I got into digital sculpting with the program #ZBrush. Having used older programs to make models before that were a lot more time consuming with a lot less pay off, Zbrush is a breath of fresh air. After getting “over the hump”, which is necessary with any new program, you’re able to generate cool looking images pretty quickly.
Digital sculpting lost its appeal pretty quickly though. Making art sitting in front of a monitor just isn’t my thing and the spoils felt a bit tainted. I’m not knocking it at all, it’s super fun, just not for me.
Since then the Oculus Rift came or with a VR sculpting program that looks incredible and I’d love to try it someday. For now, I’m having fun smashing clay with my fat fingers.
Here’s a few pieces I made that are forever trapped in the computer.
