Built by Ancient Corn Druids, No One Knows Its True Purpose...
I wanted to share with steemit one of the reasons I jokingly refer to my hometown as "Cornlumbus".
This amaizeing art installation in Dublin, OH, just minutes north of Columbus, is officially called Field of Corn (with Osange Orange Trees), but many locals lovingly know it as Cornhenge.
Familiar as corn, yet foreign in its size and configuration (for those who've never seen corn in real life, the actual ears are much smaller and grow more closely together), Cornhenge evokes strong emotions in observers, especially as they stand in its center, surrounded by quiet, immovable objects while cars zoom by just a hundred yards away along a nearby major road. As we move closer you will see that each ear appears unique. In reality only three different molds were used, but the ears are aligned in such a way as to produce distinct patterns from almost every vantage point.
Here's a tight shot of one of the ears. It truly is a well done, if slightly bizarre, work of art.
The installation allows for framing shots with strong lines and angles.
Nearby is a plaque showing the name of the artist, and the official name of the piece:
One last pic, a selfie of my girlfriend and I standing in front of Cornhenge. Thanks for reading!

Hey thanks, followed you back!
Yeah that was pretty corny... Can't lie though we like corn, it makes whisky.
At risk of sounding sexist I have to ask, are those ribbed for her pleasure?
Yeah, but you gotta be careful, man, 'cause they ain't flared at the base! :P
