Bone Artistry

in #art6 years ago (edited)

Some of you know of about my odd behavior when it comes to having a good bone hunt. I love to find bones in the woods or beside the road. It’s like treasure to me....lol

Sometimes I do artistic things with them involving digital photography. Other times I do actual sculpture or decorate with them. My favs are skulls and mandibles. I have cow skulls, deer skulls, coon skulls, wild boar skulls and of course a lot of associated bones.

I did these two photos digitally earlier today.

I love what you do. Every time I see dried up old bones I think of you.

Love

I am sure you have seen a few bones on your waunderings. Glad you my art. Hugs to you both. ❤️🐓🐓

Wow that's quite a collection there. Could do some great sculptures with them 💯🐒

Sometimes it’s just fun to take out the bones and make art with them. 🐓🐓

haha dem bones dem bones. No sounds good fun actually. I often see bones on my walks but never pick the up maybe I should start 💯🐒

Now that is awesome!

Thank you so much @richq11 glad you like the bones. 🐓🐓

Wow! pretty cool!

Well I appreciate your comment. 🐓🐓

Oh that is so cool!!! I couldn't even begin to collect such specimens. My dogs would get to them and I wouldn't have anything left. I don't think it is gross at all but my husband doesn't like it so I will just live my bone collecting dreams through you! These photos are SUPER AWESOME!!! I really like the first one especially. Just....WOW!!! Pretend you can hear me clapping for your work.

The bones are a collection of many years. Each one found in back woods explorations and cleaned by the sun. It is a long and creative process, that satisfies my art interests. I am so glad you like them. When it gets cooler in a couple of months I get them out again and make some sculptures. Wish we had a jacks river to splash around in. ❤️🐓🐓

My wife just said..."She must be fun at a crypt."

I laughed at her.

I used to have a complete moose skull on a rock in the backyard, but it eventually got carried away by something...probably a coyote.

My dream come true. I love the thought of going to the Body Farm, at the University of Tennessee where they study decaying bodies and the process of decay. Lol. 🐓🐓

Or, forensic medicine? Lots of money in those fields...huh?

Don’t know about the money, just like the biology of the whole thing.🐓🐓

It is really not that odd. I know a few people that collect bones. I think it is cool.

Thanks so much my friend. 🐓🐓

You are welcome!

Beautiful photos~

Many thanks. It’s a fun way to practice making sculptures. 🐓🐓
