Who says that drawing with a 3D pen, is mostly for kids?
I am the proud creator of a 3D VW Beetle Bee. And not just an ordinary looking one, but one of a kind :) A handmade, hippie, happy Bee that I put more than 50 hours of work into.
Tools used
- Scribbler Nano 3D pen
- Scribbler fillaments in 10 different colors
- Lots of patience
Process
I first started with a simple idea of a small Volkswagen car that was supposed to be a Christmas present for a dear friend. I found a way to make a raw paper model, just to figure out what car parts I should start with.
I started making the structure of the car in one color (white).
Time to fill the car's "wireframe" with some life. That was probably the most difficult part - deciding on the design, choosing the colors, drawing carefully and evenly.
Final version - Ta-daaaam!
Wrap it up and make it a gift.

Thank you @fineartnow!
a very efficient piece of work.... I hope to become as patient as you are..... 👍
Thank you! You like it right? It was extremely difficult for me to just give it away, right after finishing it...
Did you make any 3d artsy things? :)
These things are groovy, far out and psychedelic!
Hah, indeed they are :-) Wait - is that good or bad? :-D
Quite good, free love and all!
Thanks, @thesteemster :)
Far out and psychedelic!
Thanks @stefanonsense!
Looks like a lot of fun haha :D
Lots of fun and...pain and patience :-D
Love this! Your friend is clearly quite special!
The heart on the back is my favorite part! <3
Yes she is :-P
Oh yes. The rainbow starts with a cloud (front) and ends with a heart. Some might find some meaning in that :-)
Thank you for resteeming!
No problem...I have never seen these 3D pens before! So awesome! <3
Yep, you should try it someday :)
You didn't know about 3D pen drawing? Or you haven't seen similar works made with 3D pens?
BOTH! Lol...I had no idea this art form even existed. The wheels are starting to turn inside this creativesoul...another possible outlet to explore! <3
Yep, definitely worth exploring! If you ever decide to buy one, get a Scribble Nano pen. It won't dissapoint you :)
That's amazing. I've never seen this done before. Very cool.
You gave me an idea for Rice Krispie squares - the same of the VW Beetle.
Lucky person who is the recipient :)
Thanks @countrygirl :)
I actually had a really hard time looking for examples or inspiration of 3d cars, there's not so many good works out there (at least none that I know of). So I had to figure everything all by myself - structure, how to build the parts, how to glue them together, how to fill the wireframe with color etc.
Do you draw in 3d as well?
No....never have. I'm not that creative :) There are a few people on here who use this tool. @silviabeneforti and @enternamehere. If you don't follow them already you might like to - they are very nice people.
You should try one day, it's really fun :)
Hm...Checked them both out, but I saw no 3d pen artworks whatsoever. They do doodling though, but it's different than this.
Oh....I feel so dumb....you're right. lol. But I'm still tempted to make the rice krispie car. If I do I will take a picture for you.
No worries :)
Hah, you should definitely show the krspie car to me as soon as you finish it! :)
