This is my third try of pixel art. I would have never try it if there wasn't @jonny-clearwater and his Pixel Art Weekly. This time theme was ninja and I was doing my entry at the last minute.
I was using a program called Piskel.
The first thing I did was that I created a ninja character. I chose 100x100 size, because I didn't want to have it extra zoomed on pixels, but neither have the pixels too small.
You can notice I made an abnormally big head to my ninja. However, it was a purpose, because I wanted to highlight his eyes. If I would make his propotions the normal way, I'd never achieve this eye look and I couldn't work on the motion of the eyes so well later.
When I was a child I used to play a game called "Fruit ninja". We casually played this at school, I remember it was kind of fun. Anyways that is the reason why I decided to create my ninja as the fruit ninja.
I was thinking of which fruit I make him to slice and finally I drew a watermelon.
The idea was that my ninja is moving his eyes from side to side and then from the front a watermelon appears, coming closer to him so he pulls out his katana and slices it.
1 - EYES
2 - WATERMELON
3 - WATERMELON SLICING AND THE FINAL WINK
The final part was the hardest and the most precise. I had to really think out every position of watermelon that was just sliced and is falling down. If you want it to look real, then it has to fall apart from the top first, but the fall of the watermelon's top is faster and deeper so in the end the position of the sliced watermelon change from "V" form to "^" form.
Excellent work love the type of the art !! ^ ^ Upvoted! 💖❤
ill be happy if you would check my work of drawing ^ ^
