Since yesterday the topic of various materials for drawing has come up and the word "craft" has sounded, then I think it will be relevant to touch on this topic (craft paper) in today's post.
And so, as I learned later, the word "kraft" in German means strength, that is, it means that the paper is special, stiff and strong, designed to wrap various goods and objects in general. Initially, this kind of paper was intended for such purposes, while the artists did not decide to try it in a new genre. It seems to me that it was after experimenting with paper that the artists decided to modify it a little, at least for convenience, because a full-fledged craft is rather dense, it's problematic to apply it in a sketchbook. Therefore, the craft paper can now look like this:
In a similar craft it is hardly worthwhile to wrap something, but it's very pleasant to paint on it. Especially good looks on it an ordinary ballpoint pen and a rapidogram. With a ballpoint pen, everything is clear, I note only one important thing - the handle leaks, on the sketch you can see small spots, such spots have the property of penetrating through the paper, that is, they are noticeable from the back of the sheet. Another thing is the rapidogram, it seems that this tool is ideal for work, but again if you pursue the goal of a neat figure. I use Faber-Castell 0.4 and 0.1. It looks like this:
It looks very impressive on the craft of the white marker, especially cool they can highlight highlights, and in general to allocate various items, I have the most ordinary thin brand:
I rarely draw on paper, more often with a graphic tablet, so I share old sketches:

Great post, lovely art - thanks for sharing!
Keep drawing on paper! People will forget if everything only exists on computers in the future. The soul you have in your art needs to live in the real world as well.
Thank you very much for your kind words, be sure to listen to your advice!
My first thought was, if someone found your book in a 100 years from now they would be displaying it in a national gallery.
If its only digital it will be lost in the ether.
Digital has its purposes of course but i worry for the future sometimes considering how much knowledge and art we've forgotten already.
We don't know what will exist when Skynet takes over! Can't see the robots quiet understanding art like we do which might not bode well.
Completely agree with you!

Very cool I like it :) I hope you make more :)
Feelings aroused by the touch of someone's hand, the sound of music, the smell of a flower, a beautiful sunset, a work of art, love, laughter, hope and faith - all work on both the unconscious and the conscious aspects of the self, and they have physiological consequences as well.
I love it. You are very talented. :) Followed.
Great style, lines, shading! Thanks for this post. Officially a fan of yours!

Is the craft paper done the same way as convetional paper just thiker? or is it a different process?
It seems to me that drawing paper in our time is made completely different, although I'm not particularly at fault in the making ...

I love your style of work. Your figures are beautiful. Is there a reason you use brown paged sketchbook instead of white?
