Hand Study from 5/15/2017

in #art8 years ago

Hands are hard. When you think about them, they are really weird appendages on our bodies. That said, they can be a pain to paint. I frequently come back to them because quite honestly, they still frustrate the hell out of me. This is a study I did today for a practice.

I feel I've made a big improvement from the last time I attempted a hand study.

Another part of human anatomy that sucks are feet. Feet are weird.

Excellent job. Hands really frustrate me. Especially when they aren't the main subject but they still need to look right. It takes some research, time and thought to make them appear natural.

Yeah, even if you are painting a full figure, if you don't nail the face and hands, people notice. Those are two things we look at and use to communicate when talking or interacting with each other. People may not be artistically inclined, but they will know something is off if the hands or face are not right.

Me too, I need to practice more!

You did a great job by the by🌸

Thank you. Gotta build up that mileage through practicing.

Nice, hands can really be tough. I feel like I made the most progress after learning to sculpt them.

Sculpture is something I've wanted to get into. Even 3d stuff in Zbrush. I have zbrush and I have yet to get into it.
