I’ve been collaging since I was in middle school. I used to cover my binders for school in collages of celebrities, pop culture, shoes, makeup. Looking back now, I find those things trivial. I have evolved away from celebrating our culture or celebrity and consumerism — now, instead of consuming the content from magazines, I am a content creator. I no longer subscribe to the ideals broadcast in fashion magazines and celebrity tabloids… instead I make my own.
I feel identified with your collages, they are a reflection of contemporary art.
