Great Halloween Idea -- Keep Your Carved Pumpkins FOREVER!!!

in #art8 years ago

You spend all that time carving Justin's flawless foch into a pumpkin, you might as well keep him around till' next year when Snoop Dogg joins the party! HELLLOOO!

Do you know what my favorite saying of all time is...?

"Why the hell not??"

And this one is a no-brainer!

You spend countless hours hacking away at these pumpkins and or making beautiful, strategic designs out of them, and two weeks later you have a mutilated eye sore, either way.

Lets take the benefit of the doubt and say you make a super scary Dracula pumpkin or whatever, but it's really friggin' sweet, WHY LET IT GO TO WASTE??

SOOOO, actually my grandma came up with this idea: (Thank you #grandma !!! :) )

You rock on as well.

Go to AC MOORE or Michael's or Jo Anne Fabrics whichever you prefer and pick up one of these styrofoam pumpkins!
They're hollow already so they're perfect for carving, no mess! No seeds unfortunately, which can be very tasty, but small price to pay!

The what I did with mine, because the white color of the interior looks kind of cheesy I just used a big fat sharpie and colored it in black, and then used simple acrylic paint to fill in the rest of the details.

I choose a super simple design, but you can go as buck-wild as George Clooney is handsome.

If you're curious what I carved mine into is known as a Mr. Meeseeks from the adult swim cartoon, Rick and Morty. Which I have to HIGHLY RECCOMEND by the way. Very clever, VERY funny, complex and imaginative. Go check it out! And have fun with your pumpkins, I'm about to start a collection myself, share them with me if you guys decide to do it, I'd love to see what you make!!! Steem on!

Hahaha cool!

Thank you! You should Try it, I forgot to mention they go on sale some point for dirt cheap like right before Halloween even, so keep your eyes peeled!

I once carved a pumpkin that looked just like Nicholas Cage

Nicholas Cage is a myth.
