I have a couple of rules.

1. I never upvote a comment that has been self upvoted by the commentor.
2. I never upvote spam comments, just check their comment history, you'll see why.
3. I never upvote begging comments, I upvote you, now you upvote me.

The first case is the only one I might even bother to reply to.
