Drawing a Bengal Tiger

in #art7 years ago

Hi Steemians ! Today I am going to share with you my new drawing. The subject of my drawing is a Bengal Tiger. It took me around 11.5 hours to complete the drawing using graphite pencils. Hope you like it.

The materials :
Bristol smooth paper A4.
HB, 2B, 4B, and a 6B pencil.
Blending stumps.
Pencil eraser.

Drawing process :

I drew the outlines using a HB pencil.

After drawing the outlines I started shading the details on the eyes. I added thick dark lines on the eyelids with a 6B pencil. Added details on the pupils using a 4B pencil. Then I added the details on the iris using a 2B pencil. Also shaded the eyeballs using a HB pencil. After blending the graphite using a paper stump, I added highlights on the eyes using a pencil eraser.

Started shading on the area above the nose. Added a layer of lighter shading using quick fine strokes of a HB pencil and blended it using a paper stump. Then I added another layer of shading using a 2B pencil and blended it.

Used a 4B pencil to draw the dark hairs on the area above the nose. To shade the details on the nose, I have used a HB pencil the lightest part and 6B pencil on the darkest part. Then I added all the details on the mouth using 6B and a 2B pencil. Kept the lightest part white.

Started shading on the right side of the face. I have used a 6B pencil on the black stripes. On the lighter areas I added a layer of shading with a HB pencil. After blending it, I erased the extra graphite with a pencil eraser.

To shade the area on the top of the head, I have used a 2B pencil to add a layer of shading. After blending the graphite with a paper stump, I shaded the black stripes with a 6B pencil.
To shade the ears, I added a layer of shading with a HB pencil. Then I added more shading with a 2B pencil and blended the graphite with a paper stump. After shading the darkest details using a 4B pencil, I removed the extra graphite on the lighter parts of the ears with a pencil eraser.

For the shading on the left side of the face, I haved used a 6B pencil on the black stripes. Added a layer of shading with a HB pencil on the lighter areas and blended it using a paper stump. Then I removed the extra graphite using a pencil eraser.

Drew the whiskers using a 2B pencil and the drawing is now complete.
