Modeling Body Paint

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Before I got into #bodypainting myself, I tried out #modeling. Of course, body painting involves near nudity-in some cases 100% nudity. Coming from a conservative family that raised me in the bible belt (Illinois, USA), I had to get past quite a lot of insecurities in order to be a part of this project.

As an acrylic painter, I was attracted to this new style of painting. I thought it as so interesting and beautiful, almost mystical because it pretty much transforms the human skin into looking like a different creature.

I am really happy that I modeled bodypaint, cross that off my bucket list and it also helped me have better body image! When you see the beautiful work of art on your own skin, you can't help but feel radiant! It was a special experience, for sure.

Artists in the photos are as follows:

  • Body Painter: Nicole Palazuelos-check out her work Here
  • Photographer: John DelToro-check out his work Here
  • Model: Me!

The painting only took about 5 hours. In body paint world, that is pretty quick!

I am so grateful that the painter, Nicole painted me and taught me about body painting products. She helped me get started and even sold me a beautiful vanity case for all my paints on the cheap. At this point, I daydream about body paint all day long!

You are beautiful artwrok. <3

You look stunning! The artist did a wonderful job transforming you into a work of art.

Thank you! It is fun to think back on how it felt to model body paint and imagine it is similar to the way my models feel when I paint them! Especially if it is a live painting in front of a crowd!
