"Scythe" - Original Digital Art | Experimenting with my style to try improve workflow.

in #art7 years ago

Hiya Steemians! If you saw my previous post, you'll know I've been trying to experiment a lot with my style to figure out how I can improve the speed at which I paint. This was a little attempt at crossing over the brushy style of my previous artwork "Qolour Queen" with my more realistic style. Obviously It's extremely panterly/rough looking, but I think with more practise I'll be able to create much more refined pieces just as quickly. So the journey to find my style continues, wish me luck!! :D

PROCESS VID

...for some reason the process video got mirrored when I exported it, hope it doesn't bother you too much :P

The mirrored vid isn't bothering at all! In fact it still looks cool whether mirrored or not mirrored

Good to know, thanks! I actually mirror my paintings as I'm making them to refresh my eye and make sure the shapes don't look too awkward, it's quite a useful wee technique :)

These speedworks must be such good excercices! Bravo.

Yeah they're so refreshing! Honestly I think spending too long on a single piece of artwork was slowly killing my artistic flare.. Every now and then it's ok, but I'd done like five 15-20 hour paintings back to back and I actually started to dread committing to a new piece because it was so time consuming 😅 This more speedy method has definitely renewed my creative energy 😁

Refreshing is the right word ;)

Great! That is a really cool painting :) solid drawing skills and great sense of colour. I'll keep checking your stuff. Trying to learn digital myself

Thanks!! We can learn together, I'll race you to being the best digital artist in the world ;) Shoot for the moon and you'll land among the stars, right?

I'm up for the challenge ;D We'll shoot for the moon and land in a different universe. Are you active in the trialbycomics forum? Maybe we should race in the next challenge - (not the one running now)? Could be good fun, setting a time-limit and see what we can do.

Never heard of trialbycomics, I'll have to check it out! :D

this is amazing! what programme do you use?

All my recent pieces (including this one) I actually made on my iPad in Procreate. It's a super fun app which feels really nice to use! To be fair Potoshop and Clip Studio Paint are probably my favourite digital painting programmes overall. But procreate is just so convenient that I haven't used the others in months..

Superb!

Glad you like it!! :D

wow,,nice picture

Thanks youu!

I checked your other posts also, and you have great drawings. I love colorful drawings :) As I get older I like colorful art more and more hehe

Thanks! Yeah I used to just draw black and white because I could never get my head around how to get nice colours, but one day i was just like "ok time to figure this stuff out".. I'm still figuring it out, but I've come a long way :D

So far you are doing great :)

wonderful art!

Wow amazing! Keep it up!

What?!? This is gorgeous! I'm so inspired. Very professional. Well done!
