RE: Hi, I'm Meredith Loughran and I'm celebrating 60 days on #Steemit with original art and some thoughts

an encouraging post, Meredith, especially to newbies trying to navigate a new experience. I'm an old hand at Twitter but Steemit can be overwhelming at first. You gave some good advice. Thank you.

You're very welcome @johngeddes
I have to admit that I'm still learning the platform but I was able to build my reputation from the low 40s to where I am now. While I still have no expectations on earnings, I'm beginning to treat Steemit like a job that I love. And working from home with no small kids anymore, I've been able to spend more time here than most people.

Yes, it's kind of a steep learning curve for people, especially if you've never blogged before, and finding a niche while expanding one's own creativity has been a journey, I can honestly say that it's worth the effort.

I recommend going to http://steem.chat to connect with some people; post your links where appropriate and start building your tribe, I also highly recommend getting verified as it helps build trust within the Steemit community. There are a few ways of doing this. You can post your picture with the current date written on a piece of paper; you can include links to your other social media sites (Twitter, FB, LinkedIn, etc.), or you can go to chat and get a verify badge at https://steemit.chat/channel/steemverify (but I believe they're on hold until they can launch their official website)
Good luck and welcome to Steemit! If you have any questions, you can always reach out to me and I will either help or direct you to someone who can :)

you are so kind Meredith - thank you for the encouragement and help. I will follow all your advice. I know you're going to be very successful on here and the earnings will follow :)
