Recently @eric-stgermain began drawing again, having taken some time off. All artists know that motivation and inspiration are paramount to creating artwork that is enjoyable by not just yourself but others. I want to share with you some of his most recent works. These aren't professionally matted or anything, but they are the culmination of inspiration he has found in varying places.
The majority of these are done in pen and ink, with the color being added by using anything from highlighters to colored pens. When possible, I've included some in-progress photos as well, as I believe that part of appreciating artwork comes from seeing the process.
Although @eric-stgermain has a degree in graphic design and experience in logo design, he prefers the old fashioned pen to paper style just as much as creating on the computer.
All artwork here is originals by @eric-stgermain and posted with his permission.
These first two, for Star Wars fans, are @eric-stgermain's interpretation of Kylo Ren (in progress and completed)
What Star Wars fan can resist creating Boba Fett, just for fun
This last Star Wars pen and ink drawing is Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. It is still in progress and being worked on as we speak.
Being a Philadelphian, Eric is also a huge Eagles fan. Although I am a Steeler fan, I agreed to share his Eagle's artwork anyway. He has worked up several different versions of eagles, the first one being his rendition of the Philly Eagle's mascot and the remainder are his own character (we are still searching for a name, please feel free to leave suggestions!)
These are in-progress during the creation of his new character
The two, slightly different, finished versions of the eagle without a name
Sometimes simplicity strikes me the strongest. In this case, a simple lighter comes to life with pen, ink and highlighters. Depending on where he is when the mood strikes, he has to work with what's available at the moment for drawing implements.
And of course, this is my favorite. Its always nice to know that I am on his mind throughout the day!
I am very happy that Eric has started drawing again, its a great outlet for him as well as relaxing. I am hoping that the support on here will encourage him to continue drawing and possibly even get back into the art field at some point. Thank you!
