Welcome to the inner world of Master Photographer Art Wolfe. Over a 30-year career, Mr Wolfe has chiseled out a spot for himself among modern photographic masters of our time. Art has produced well over 1 million photo images and has a library of 70 books published to date.
Art Wolfe is not your regular run-of-the-mill photographer, travel expenses for Wolfe's adventures are funded by Canon USA. Inc, The Microsoft Corporation and Conservation International. Seriously don't feel bad if your images don't measure up to Arts portfolio, it never hurts to get by with a little help from you're friend's! Arts friends just happen to have very deep corporate pockets.
Art get's to travel to the edge of the world more times than he can remember, sound like a job you would like to have? Being a master photographer and having his expenses paid by big corporations does not mean Mr Wolfe has not put in his due's to get to where he is today. Any photographer willing to travel to the four corners of the glob to capture a photograph of a frog sitting on an alligator's eye deserves to be given a chance to explore his or her passion to the fullest and thankfully there are still a few people out there who agree with my philosophy. A photographer should not have to work at a service station to pump gas for a living to have to pursue an education or career in photography, music, writing or any art form for that matter.
For Art Wolfe "photography and conservation go hand-in-hand" Mr Wolfe describes the union of art and Technology that is used to bring about change as well as educate and nudge the viewer in the right direction to be more environmentally conscious, to think about the world outside of themselves. Conservation photography received a gigantic injection of cash after the famous photo of Earth from the Apollo 17 spacecraft was published in the early 1970s. The view of Earth known as the Blue Marble has helped put into perspective the need for an environmentalism protection mandate to conserve the planet for future generations. Art believes his series of conservation photos have been used to help protect the Alaskan Arctic, Canadian Rivers and countless other locations Mr Wolfe's job has taken him to.
Some of Mr Wolfe's career highlights include,
- The public television series, Travels to the Edge with Art Wolfe
- The U.S. Postal Service has used Wolfe's photographs on two stamps
- He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society
- Serves on the advisory boards for the Wildlife Conservation Society
- Nature’s Best Foundation
- Bridges to Understanding
- Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP)
- Appeared in the Australian television series Tales by Light.

I want to take a second to thank you for checking out this post and I look forward to reading the feedback.
What is your favorite image from this series of photos?
Do you have an idea for a future photography topic you would like me to cover?
Let me know in the comments below.
OMG what a wonderful post. Very well written and visual stimulating!! Thank you for sharing a top photographer in the industry. While these are all breathtaking, I wonder the amount of photoshop (photo editing) that went into them. Some highlights, some dulling of others, some twitching here and there, either way it doesn't stop me from valuing and enjoying every single one. I think I like this image in particularly
Because I feel my self being in his shoes and think, OMG what a perfect moment to take a photograph! How rare is it to capture a bear being surrounded by hundreds of Salmon.
I'm new to Steemit and haven't had a chance to see your previous post but I would be interested in seeing what you can share when it comes to contemporary artist who's work is very conceptual rather than visual. Where the idea behind the work is genius and makes think and stay with you, rather than something you see and understand like 2+2. Food for thought... Will start following you! @jazminmillion
Couldn’t agree more
Nice
I am a photographer and I can tell you for sure there’s not a lot of photoshop here. I had the luck to work with Frans Lanting a couple of times. These great masters like Frans and Art Wolfe shoot almost perfect pictures and use photoshop just as a dark room, for saturation, highlights, contrast. In raw formats you have to. But that’s all. They use patience, commitment and passion to take an amazing shot, but to have it, it could take them days and days of waiting in harsh conditions. For me they are a sort of superheroes!
Don't you think it's wrong then that a photographers hard work is being robbed here? Photographers like these risk their life potentially getting diseases, getting maimed by wild animals etc to produce these beautiful digital images and @jazminmillion simply shares it alongside some half-baked rewrite of a wikipedia article and earns 500 bucks (or more depending on Steem value etc). I love Steemit and this kind of copyright infringement is definitely not going to help the platform.
Well, the greatest photographers are sent by magazines like national geographic for reportages, then they earn their money through stock agencies like Getty, or photo workshops around the world. For instance Wolfe, Frans Lanting and Jack Dykinga will all go together to the Falklands late this year to bring people to take pictures of the birds and animals. That’s their biggest income. You can find free download of the same images posted here even on Art Wolfe website, because with that resolution you can print a A4 size paper, not more. It’s the same with music or ebooks: if someone wants to download your work for free he or she is not a customer anyway. So you can let them do it unless it’s for commercial porpoise. I think it’s good anyway for people to know about the work of a great artist even through a social network platform, expecially in fields like photography that are not at the top of the list as interest for many.

Me three
I feel, this photo is showing about Global Warming.
Thanks for your photoes and I will follow you @Jazminmillion .
Nice
I also love this image! It's so dark but the highlights in the texture add so much interest and movement all across the photograph. Great pick! @generalpyone
Thanks
Nice
Art Wolfe is a master of photography. All the images you chose are amazing, but I think this one is the best because it’s very technical and difficult to do. The light is extremly well balanced and the lanterns are the focal point to make it magical. It should have been really tricky to expose, the background is dark and could come out black without the perfect settings. Look at how clear are the pebbles in the water and so vibrant in color. The birds cover the fire avoiding over exposure on the face of the main character. The saturation gives to the image a warm look, a feeling of intimacy. This is really a masterpiece! Thanks for sharing
I agree with you that any photographer who can travel all over the world to capture a frog sitting on an alligator's eye, deserves some recognition. And the photos are so beautiful and lively.
Thanks for the feed back, have a great week!
Thanks for this excellent photo with the interesting narrative, awesome photos & reference links. Bookmarked it to enjoy it again!
I really like this photo, a very amazing and amazing photograph ..., this melambngkan global warming that makes the surface of the mountain released larval fluid ... the work of art is extraordinary ...
Lol this image reminds me of one of one of those pictures that you look at a specific part and the rest of it looks like he's moving as you change focal points. I'm actually very tempted to try to make a tileable image out of this for my phone. Gorgeous piece of art, thanks for posting I started following you so I can see more of your posts :-)
The brain behind the camera is truly amazing,am looking at the patterns the zebras are creating as they move. The moment has been captured and the view awesome, anticipating more sir
I'm definitely going to be posting regularly in the photography category, photography, art and animation are my passions so if you enjoy it definitely check me out :-). But I totally agree with your post, it takes patience to get the shot but when you do it's totally worth it no matter how long you had to wait! As long as you have the eye for what you're trying to shoot and a passion for doing it it will always turn out great :-)
May God give Mr. Art Wolfe a long life. The work he does is very beautiful. Photography fascinates me, I used to do it only as a hobbi but after reading your post I think I will devote more time to it. small until now I have had about 4 cameras and I have not yet managed to get what I want but I am going to propose it as a goal for this year 2018. My favorite photo of these is ...
Absolutely stunning photography. A very talented man. This one in particular caught my eye. The set up for this shot!.
I look forward for more of your write ups. I enjoyed this one a lot :)
OMG he takes stunning pictures. I entirely like the one with the dark background and highlight many secret of nature
I Decent post man I delighted in understanding it. Possibly you could complete one on representation photography next. That is something that constantly intrigued me.
thanks
Wow this man takes amazing pictures. I actually really like the one with the frog on the croc. It kinda looks like the croc isn't to sure how to feel about being ridden by a frog. Nice post man I enjoyed reading it. Maybe you could do one on portrait photography next. Thats something that always interested me.
Great photographer and amazing photography behind them! Loce them all, hard to choose which is best - I have also many of my own favourites shots - kill me but I will never pick the best. The choice is always an subjective opinion only... have a good day and feel free to check my site.
best photo 👏👏👏
I should resteem it :)
There's so much spirituality and life in these photographs, life is sacred and art wonderful. Lovely post @jazminmillion
Ahhhh they’re all so amazing!!
Since I’m from the Pacific Northwest, I have to choose the bear with the salmon in it’s mouth. The picture is so full of energy from the bear, fish and water.
"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life."
Well, Thanks for such a nice article Dear.
Love from Rebica <3
Totally staggering work... a debt of gratitude is in order for featuring another awesome craftsman (picture taker). I'm eager to see which unrivaled quality work you share with us next
Absolutely stunning work... thanks for highlighting another great artist (photographer).
I'm excited to see which superior quality work you share with us next 🤓✌🏽
Love those men on the boats. Thats what Id love to see. That part of the world and just real people doing real things and going about their day. I love looking at images like that. When the environment adapts around the photographer and you get unreal photos of mankind
Great post yet again..!
My favourite is the photo of the tiger, the colours are incredible. While they have been photographed many times, the terraced rice fields of Bali would be a topic I’d like you to cover. Seeing a whole range of photos of the terraced rice fields in one place would be great. Great post
For me as a photographer, viewing work by a master gives me inspiration to look at things differently than the day before! Hard to pic a fave here but if it had to be one it would be the swans
this picture describes a lot of things that i realized.. thanks for these pictures and very good job

This is photography at its best.
I have watched a documentary about those fishermen. Those birds catch fishes for them.
Dusk skyline - 2nd last picture imparts a feeling of calm that a day of work is done and a restful period is approaching.
A topic I’m interested in is how to choose the best angle to shoot your picture to make it more real and substantial.
Thanks for sharing the picture and your knowledge.
They should not have to work at a gas station...so, so true. We need to value people who dedicate their lives to creative pursuits much more than we currently do :\ Great article! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, these are breathtaking! So much time and patience would've come into each of these photos. The one with the bear and salmon circling it is my favourite.
