Today I will share with you how my latest 6x5 feet oil painting came to life.
Of course I had no idea that this will be my first painting of horses. I started with an idea of painting a quasi monotone sunset, accentuating the light by strong contrast.
But as almost always, things come as I walk the path of creation.
First I wanted to put a walking couple- dad with a kid- walking towards the ocean.
Then I wanted to put a sitting chief on the beach with Viking ship hitting the beach. I discarded that although I still like this sinister idea. Might do it one day.
Then it hit me- running horses. Without rider, just free beautiful horses running wild.
And so it came to be.
Enjoy the step by step process.
.
First layer is always about getting rid of the white plain canvas and getting rough shapes in place.
This was before I realized that the beach will be covered by thin layer of water
First sign of horses! I mean now they still look like greyhounds :)
And the final result!
I hope you liked it!
Much Love to all,
