Another day to share art!
Hi steemians! I would like to share one of my drawings from 2012
We did this in our art class as drawing exercises.
we copied this exercise:
This is a 2D line drawing, the task is to shade it to give it shape, volume and realistic look.
we have hands:
and feet too:
shading
What you do with the hands and feet is to fill it with the right shading.
here are basic shapes filled with shading
They look more real this way.
Practice
These are exercises that are very helpful and I recommend it.
- when drawing you can always ask a friend to critique your art if it looks good or accurate already.
- experiment with shading until you can control it well enough
- explore more art
- read some books on anatomy (it would be worth the experience of having your own books and learn)
Here's a basic guide on HOW TO SHADE A DRAWING
I found this online, its very simple and easy to follow! Just Click here!
Enjoy the art!

These are great! I love being able to see the progression from rough outline to fully shaded as well.
yes, it is the magic of shading :D

Hi @jacinta.sevilla, this is a great educational post! I like that in the photos the 2D and 3D elements are confronted, this is very thought-provoking! Comparing them allows to really see what makes the difference. I think you did the tremendous with the shading. Thank you for your advice on practice! Klaudia :)
