Ramble Bramble....

Happy Thursday!.... or as you know I like to call it.... Friday Eve
Today was an unusual day. I signed onto work and the main program I use for my job was down... DOWN! Several departments, including mine could not do our work. Nobody got too excited about it in the beginning, but the time kept passing with no resolution. It turns out, it was down all day. Somebody in IT will be working all night tonight, probably a whole LOT of IT folks will be.
Because everyone expected it to come up any moment, we all stuck around close. I did a training module that was in my que and had a meeting with my supervisor by webex so she could tell me how wonderful I did last month 😂 Same old story....! One of our leads even did a webex to train us on something she could have typed up in an email in 10 minutes and sent it out to all of us and be done with it, but no....webex. I spent lots of the day cleaning out emails and re-arranging stuff on my desktop and looking at my 401k through our portal and the such. Fortunately, I had bought a new firestick for my tiny office TV and I watched art videos in the background all day. I made a list of some stuff I might want to try. Good info !
This is a tiny collage piece I made. I thought it came out pretty neat with the different designs and texture that are in it.

I told you I bought two bottles of fancy paint not so long back (the two colors in the middle on the swatch below. Since then I bought two more. (the two colors on each end) I was surprised how close the AZO gold was to the Transparent red oxide. They look very fall'ish... right ? Although I had various yellows in my supplies before, I really didn't have anything in the rusty category. I am glad to have them though and see how they will fit in with what I have and what I make. We'll see!

While I'm on spicy colors.... last month when I went to Good Will and the library sale and bought some cheaply priced books to cut up, one of them was a decorating book from probably the 80's. They had so many bold colors, which of course I love. You know... design and color before gray, black, tan and other flat colors took over the decorating world. LOL.... I can't wait till it all comes full circle again. Of course in my house with all the wild art everywhere, the bold colors never left.

In this photo though, what I really liked was the fabric design on this chair. I mean, I love that it is bright yellow too, but I found the waffle-like design in the upholstery inviting. Now I want one !

It also had a page with the fun color wheel. I have colorwheels, but I liked how they did the dried flowers in the center as they talked about warm and cool colors and how colors opposite each other on the wheel compliment each other.

Oh look ! Something else orange ! I love circus peanuts. There is no special reason for them to be in this post except that I had some a couple weeks ago and I took a photo and what good was that if I didn't post it somewheres????

Last but not least, this photo I took at the biscuit place where I picked up lunch for my Mom and I the other Sunday. You know, just sitting there waiting my turn, I had nothing to do but look around and that is when I saw this. The sign has a Y shape at the top and below that, it says Any Lane, Any Time...... and then it has blue cones blocking the only other lane off.
I know, I know, it's not THAT funny, but still, in that moment with nothing else to do, it amused me.

As one last note, this program is going all to hell lately. The favorites hasn't worked in a couple weeks and starting yesterday, the "following" doesn't either. I know I am missing voting some of my peeps, but it is not easy like it was and not only that.... creating this tiny simple post was a pain. Everything kept jumping around. I'd be typing and next thing you know I'd have part of a word under the next photo. Somebody needs to get on the stick around here.
Ok, ok, time to get up from here and do something. Not sure what, but something more than sitting !
Hope you've been having a good week.
Love ya!
Jacey.

Urgh, I hate those dry peanuts! Blegh :op

The chair almost has the same texture as the nuts!

ha ha .... I didn't even think about the texture/design of the chair fabric to the nuts. That's kinda funny.

I think the circus peanuts remind me of the bunnies and chicks that we used to have at Easter when I was growing up. Of course as a child and it being candy, I pretty much loved it all (except for licorice....talk about Urgh!)....and I still see some bunnies and chicks at Ester these days, but they have changed them and they aren't good like they used to be.

Thanks for stopping over!

Always a pleasure swinging by! :O)

I am not a big licorice fan, yech, Gimme chocolate any day!

Greetings Jacey,

What a different day....totally unexpected. However it sounds like you ended up with a really good day. ^__^

Yellow is one of those wonderful colours that has a wide temperature range ..happy to see it covering a chair and in a waffle texture no less...just lovely.

Lovely piece of artwork...always like to see what you are doing.

Enjoyed the Colour swatches....I have three of the colours but not Transparent Red Iron Oxide...It is quite lovely...with its deep tone.

Thank you for a lettre from home...^__^

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

I certainly benefitted nicely to get paid for a day I didn't really work. 😊

I would like a yellow chair. I know something so bright would not suite everyone, but it would me!

I liked the transparent red oxide as well. I had seen some other artists use it on video and I liked their outcome. I haven't really been working with a similar color although I have played with mixing my own dark oranges and the such. I love orange, but it doesn't always fit in for me somehow

Thanks for stopping over. I appreciate it.
