Every soul, every mind, everything writes their own story,
Where thoughts and fantasy collide, new tales arise,
Every breath we take, inhaling the magic of life.
With an open mind for other stories than ours,
We can help each other grow,
With the guidance of the written word new gates appear,
We have to decide through which one we should stride.
Forming our own path through life,
Loosing some people along the way while finding others,
Forming forever lasting bonds without a hurry,
Happily loosing fear, anger and envy along the journey.
Living, an adventure within worlds to create your own,
Never taking a wrong path, you are always where you are supposed to be,
Living, a journey full of highs and lows,
Never hide your tales, they are the compass of your soul.
This poem should describe how I used to see life when I was younger. Around the time I was seven years old I read the book ''Inkheart'' by Cornelia Funke where the main characters were able to read things out of books when they were reading out loud. That inspired me to think of life as an story in itself. What if we are just characters in some other book and every character in this book writes its' own story in this world. Some stories may collide while others will never even meet and just like it is in books every decision you take in the now will lead you to your future. I have to admit that I still like to think about our lives in that way. It is kind of fun to think about what stories I will get to experience in the future while still staying in the present moment and enjoy every day I get to see in this world. In general I think as a child my mind was way more creative than it is now. I was constantly thinking about new stories and ways to put them down on paper. I always wanted to become an author because I admired those people so much who could write the most amazing books. I really want to work on getting back to this level of creativity ond of course fantasy because what would this life be without both of them in it? Pretty boring in my opinion. :)
This is a more lighthearted post but I really enjoyed working on it. It took way longer than anticipated to draw that image and I really wanted to upload this post (finally). I hope you enjoy the poem as well as the drawing. Have a nice day everyone! :)

Thank you :) You described perfectly what I aimed for with the picture. I am glad that my original intention shows up in it :D
I totally second this! The illuminated creek is amazing! all the highlights, I can NEVER get that effect and I'm almost always shooting for it lol
"Never hide your tales they are the compass of your soul" best line I've ever read it deserves to be painted on a mural. Speaking of painting, yours is amazing. I love the texture and all the detail in the trees. Is that oil paint?
Keep it up!!! You're gonna go far here you have such amazing content.
Thanks a lot for this! I actually drew this with colored pencils. It is my favourite medium and I love to draw with them but it takes a long ime to plan and draw, at least for me. But for this one I was actually really happy how it turned out (which doesn't happen too often) and I even managed to take a decent photo from it which is something I really struggle with :D
Holy shit that's colored pencil?! That's amazing! I completely agree on the whole illustrator's block :p I'll stare at a white sheet of paper or blank canvas for hours and never come up with a thing. Requests were my best friend for a while. Like tattoo designs or caricatures. The only time I really get into drawing or painting is when someone else gives me the idea LOL
I know that feeling too well. Sometimes I ask my sister to tell me what topic I should cover so at least I have an idea what I could do:D
I used to make a list of settings and a list of nouns or pronouns, cut em up an put em in seperate hats and draw whatever came out of it. Dinosaurs in space (: I miss drawing
That sounds like a fun idea. I should try this the next time I don't know what to draw! :D
Maybe start again when you have some spare time. It is totally worth it! :)
As always, the accompanying painting provides me with stellar imagery with which can guide my interpretation of the poem.
