To be free of the word and not to give too much importance to it; to see that the word is not the thing and the thing is never the word; not to get caught in the overtones of the word and yet use words with care and understanding; to be sensitive to words and not to be weighed down by them; to break through the verbal barrier and to consider the fact; to avoid the poison of words and feel the beauty of them; to put away all identification with words and to examine them, for words are a trap and a snare. They are the symbols and not the real. The screen of words acts as a shelter for the lazy, the thoughtless and the deceiving mind. Slavery to words is the beginning of inaction which may appear to be action and a mind caught in symbols cannot go far. Every word, thought, shapes the mind and without understanding every thought, mind becomes a slave to words and sorrow begins. Conclusions and explanations do not end sorrow.

Another amazing piece. I love how your work has such a neutral toned quality to it, as if you might be recalling a dream. This piece is so thought provoking and in some way I feel like I can taste sand in my mouth and just need to make it to the chair, so I can take a break. I love art that pulls me in and has me creating a story for and with it.
jesus. "recalling a dream" and "taste sand in my mouth" are absolutely spot on, beautiful descriptors.
Thank you @donnadavisart,
Thank you @bucho!
well, what to say ? No word close enough to express what is inside my heart. So, here is for you : a long, sweet, deep... silence. thank you.
Thank you @tiloupsa! :-)
oww .. Jiddu .. is a legendary writing that shows a new, free perspective that deeply influences human values, thoughts. And what a wonderfully beautiful picture this is. I like it very much. Thank you
Thank you @artizm!
Wunderschöne Arbeit!
Danke @bella-volen-art!
Great reflection. There are so many things and situations that "demand" our attention, thought, time. We must remember to not give too much credence to these demands - the stories we tell ourselves about their importance have a huge impact on our happiness.
True! We can train to be alert where our attention is, whether it's in time or in the now. The more we get lost in time (thoughts) the faster our lives seem to pass.
these places that you create are absolutely fascinating, brother. i love this one; for me, there is hope in the sky and despair on the ground. the visual discord here is wonderful and perfectly right in my wheelhouse.
thanks for posting up another great piece!
Powerful spatial quality that permits a sence of mystery.
I am reminded of plato's analogy. In that people either stay in the shadows of the media or escape to the light. The dotted face detail is a technique that uses the antinomical qualities of form that we can observe in our universe. Unity and multiplicity. A profound peace of artwork that will remain timeless. Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you @imperialaussie!
The same is mention in the book "The fifth agreement" ( a Toltec wisdom book-a practical guide to self mastery) by Don Miguel Ruiz, where he says the words are arbitrary symbols that were devised to be able to educate us! These symbolisms are true only because we accept them!
amazing..i always follow your awsome artwork from fb .. now much better with steemit....cheerss from borneo @gric 😉
Thank you @borneoairbrush!
Looks amazing. I've been dabbling with paint as well and I was wondering what are the benefits of acrylic over oil paint?
It dries within minutes and it's not water soluble once it's dry, so it's possible to paint in layers without having to wait for days or weeks. It also allows the creation of various textures and it can be used with the airbrush.
Thanks for the info @gric Do you use lighting reference or maquettes? This kind of diffuse light scenario is hard to nail but this looks wonderfully soft and natural. Also the white over the brown creates a nice cool/warm contrast.
I built the geometry in 3D software and used this as a reference for the perspective. I then used the airbrush to add the soft light and the shadows.
If I like the paint to stay open longer - like with decalcomania technique - I use Golden Open
I never actually have the need to keep acrylics longer open.
I used to do decalcomania super fast - with age I slowed down, and it works best if you take your time with it. I should be doing it with oils, but I can't stand the smell.
The more you practice the luckier you get
Absolutely!
look at that perspective , just wow, i am still unable to understand how you managed to created the newspaper wall writings in such perfect way, simply amazing.
I didn't paint the texts on the walls. I used a collage technique where I transferred laser prints of texts and photos into the painting. The perspective distortions of the text fragments were made in Photoshop before transferred into the painting.
Creepy but also beautiful atmosphere in this one Peter....very nice work! ;-)
Thanks Dennis!
I love this work - it is still a puzzle to me technically. Sometimes I had dabbled with solvent transfer, then transfer with acrylic medium with more or less success.
It's usually a mess...
OK, so I don't feel as bad if it doesn't work. Particularly solvent transfer. Acrylic medium works better for me, lots of layers, then soak and rub the paper off gently with your fingers.
Woww wonderfull
Thanks @mesafe!
Amazing painting. Both quote and painting are extremely thought provoking. Wow.
Thank you!
Wonderful
Thanks!
