In the previous article I have shared how to make crafts from waste used beverage cans. Well in this article I want to share with my friends how to make mask craft with wood base material.
The type of wood as a mask-making material that we know so far is very diverse. One of the most common types of wood used as the basic material of wood mask making is sengon wood and pule wood, because the second type of wood is relatively easier to obtain and easy also in the process of carving other than that this type of wood is also good to be made mask batik.
After we know the wood used in making wooden mask, now I will invite friends to know the tool in making this wooden mask.
Ingredients: 1. Saw: used to cut wood.
- Tool chisel: to form a wood into a desired shape.
- Drill: to facilitate the process of hollowing wood.
- Wood glue: glue is used for adhesive, if on the carving process there is a broken wood.
- Sandpaper: to smooth the wood that has been carved.
Ways of making:
- Let us prepare the raw material that is in the form of wood.
- Cut the wood according to the desired size using a saw.
- Carving archetypes to shape the eyes, nose, mouth and other additional motifs using chisels, to form something you want. Once carved, then puree the wood that has been carved with sandpaper.
- Finishing, ie giving color to the mask for the character of the mask can be seen, either with ordinary colors and coloring in the form of batik.
Happy Trying: D :)

Those are incredible! I'll have to try this someday. Is that your family making masks with you? What do you do with them, are they just decoration or is there religious/cultural meaning to them?
yes I am very happy if you are interested to make it too, they are all my friends and I am here just like those who do the making of this mask.
We are all here gathered in an art studio in the village where I live @graphxguy
