RE: Storm is approaching! My oil painting

in #art5 years ago

Wow! Perhaps these are the most significant words for me from another person in recent times.
What you have described now - the feeling that you are small, and the world is huge and majestic - this is just the very thing that I feel and try to convey when I paint pictures about nature! It is so amazing that our thoughts came together.
I never put myself or anyone else at the forefront. I am talking about people. We are only travelers who contemplate this world.
Everything around is abstract and ambivalent, to be honest. On the one hand, we are very small and weak on the scale of our being, but on the other, we are incredibly strong. The same can be said of the world. Today it is great, and tomorrow it is fragile, like an autumn leaf. Isn't this amazing?

It is! I'm glad I read the intentions behind your art correctly :)
As someone who has lived in a big city all his life, that kind of contact with nature is something that I can't experience very often - but when I do, I always feel like it is something that's missing from my everyday life. And yep, I see your point about strength and fragility. I just feel than, when it comes to the environment, we're using that strength the wrong way - but this is a story for another time.
Anyway, keep making awesome (as in "full of awe") art :)
