This is where I’m at so far on this acrylic painting. I still have many layers to add to it. It’s like putting together a visionary puzzle. I started by painting the base layer of the shaman in the center.

After the very basic under painting was done I went in and added light values to his face and threw in some symmetrical lines between his skin tone. Similar to that of wood to create his connection to nature. I also began adding the details and colors to his head dress and giving it some more depth and perspective.

Above his forehead I decided to paint in a sort of pathway or portal. To where you may ask? Well i’ll leave that up to your imagination. I also added in a lovely little sparrow flying beside him.

After this I began adding more details around the being, like a pair of eyes gazing into your soul and below him a rubiks cube and some more symmetrical dimensions. This is the stage Im currently in and will be adding much more to it today!

Powerful man. really cool seeing you break down the process like that

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the insight into my process.

Yea it was a great addition, especially for someone who is not visually artistic at all like myself, it helps us understand the steps guys like you take. Like I had no idea people layered their paintings like that but it makes total sense

I love your art, thanks for sharing the different steps of creation.
