What are Phosphenes?

Hey everyone, at the beginning I would like to welcome you to my new post and hope you all have a week so far which has brought some interesting experiences into your lives! In this article I would like to elaborate on a phenomenon and hope you can expand your knowledge.

An example of a well-known phenomenon are phosphenes which also describes certain colors or light effects which are perceptible when the eye is closed and the reason here are no visible lights and it have other causes such as certain stimuli such as when pressure is exerted on the eyeball. Most of the time, this phenomenon occurs naturally, but it can also have other causes such as certain diseases that can lead to it and sometimes people also report that they have created phosphenes artificially as through the influence of certain frequencies and here it was discovered that especially frequencies that are in a range between 20 and 30 Hz can help to generate these images. Phosphenes can also be generated by the use of other electrical aids such as electric waves or magnets and it's not a phenomenon of modern times and already in ancient cultures, people made such experiences which they could not classify properly and in the past it was often associated with occult phenomena such as religious encounters. Over time, people became more and more advanced and began to find methods to artificially cause these conditions and through the use of certain mechanisms, people were able to artificially create this phenomenon and it was reported more and more about it in ancient writings. Sometimes it can also occur as a side effect of certain therapies, but it often occurs in the natural state and can refer to all different types of light phenomena like flashes, dots, colors or other abstract manifestations that can be seen particularly frequently.
