For those who haven't seen it, one of ours recently put up a post asking for some help. @karenb54 is one of the sweetest people I have been blessed to meet on this platform. She has been here for a full year, and through all of steemit's ups and downs she's never failed to be supportive, with a kind word for everyone she meets.
You can read about her story HERE where she simply asks for votes and resteems, in fact she is quite adamantly opposed to donations.
@merej99 is currently on vacation, but I know if she were here there would already be a a pay-it-forward post up about this, and while I can't quite fill her shoes, I'm taking a leaf out of her book. I ask that people visit Karen's post and give it a vote, and all of the liquid rewards from this one will also go to her.
And I thought it fitting to do a post inspired by @merej99 for this :)
Recently Meredith hosted a community challenge, and during the course of this challenge in order to help participants meet the comment requirements she posted questions. In one of the questions she asked if we had a writing process, and though I didn't answer that one in her post, I thought about it and realized I have several, depending on what it is I'm writing.
When it comes to my novels I spend a lot of time in the plotting phase, and while I do a lot of note writing during this period, I also spend a great deal of time 'living' the story in my head. If possible somewhere scenic and inspiring.
I generally need to do something with my hands while I'm in this daydream state, and since I also tend to do my note writing in an actual notebook, this is typical of what you will find in between pages of "only legible to me" chicken scratch and abbreviations.
One of my favorite doodles is the one you see at the bottom.
My pen ran out of ink after completing a couple of pages of notes in between doodling, so after I went back up to the house to retrieve another I decided to head to the end of the dock.
At which point my doodling took on a form.
It was at this point I remembered to take some pictures.
I have no idea if there is an art out there like this one, I've been doing it since I was just a kid. I'm henceforth dubbing it Dreemit's Doodles.
And there you have it, one facet of dreemit's writing process. Does anyone else doodle as part of their process? In fact if you have anything quirky you do while plotting out a story or any form of art, let me know down below. And don't forget to vote for
Karen's post ! Thanks everyone!
Generously created for me by @son-of-satire
Hey there, @dreemit! I love the way that doodle took on a form all on it's own and exploded into the name we all adore and love! I tell you, I wish we had scenic beauty like that around where I live. Seems you had all the right ingredients that brought to fruition the outstanding creative gift residing within you.
(p.s. Thanks for letting us all know about @karenb54. That story just broke me. @rea and I just gave our 100% worth of support and wish her all the very best).
Aw, Big Hugs to you and your beautiful wife!
I have your short story in my browser, everything has been a bit hectic here the past few days- my daughter is coming home from a six week visit to my step son's in North Carolina, on top of which my parent's driveway flooded so we've been helping them out, and actually tomorrow we have a big job of stone shoveling to do :)
I put up a post about my brother today, I was really hoping he'd be on steemit by now, so I've been trying not to post too many of his videos, but I thought it was time for another nudge since I will be seeing him tomorrow :) He would love you and vice versa, I can't wait for the eventual meeting between him and my lovely friends on here!
Wow! Sounds like you got your hands full over there. Break everything down into sizeable chunks and you should be good to go. It's only a matter of time until your brother joins this platform, I'm sure. You're a great role model to follow judging by your very successful run so far.
I echo your sentiments as to meeting up in the future. Let's hope it comes true. :)
Simply awesome pic
Thank you! It's definitely a nice place for picture taking :)
Fully agreed!!! That's my favorite one, too :-)
I started playing with your pics in photoshop!
That looks awesome...actually that doodle isn't a half bad piece of art when I look at it like this, thanks!
I was trying to sort out some driver problems with my Wacom tablet - not fully sorted yet, but now it's in Photoshop, so just let me know if you want it in any other colour!
Actually, it would be cool to see in red, since I'm thinking of doing everlove's new collab with this doodle style :)
Very cool! I am definitely doodling the collab :)
I usually get my ideas, and often write whole posts in my head, when I'm occupied with something else - usually either cooking or in the shower. Of course, whether they manage to make the transition to the computer is another story!
Cool doodling @dreemit
Thank you @opheliafu, coming from you is especially cool! :) I'm actually starting to think I might be able to do something with everlove's newest collab and my particular style of doodling, what do you think?
I haven't heard of @karenb54 till now (well no one knows who I am) haha but I checked out her blogs and she has some great content there.
Some remarkable memes that put a smile on my face as well as some exceptional photographs of her own plants that she has catered herself.
The doodles look amazing! You have some people to say to follow your head or to follow your heart but this brain-like heart doodle states to me that you can use both haha
I doodle while I think and generate ideas but they are not as intricate at this. They are more some random squiggles and strokes on a piece of paper with no definite structure or shape to them.
Love the oedels of doodle's and that water looks amazing!
Thanks! Haha, love your doodle, that's great!
That is one scenic spot!! Perfect for doodling
Ha, yes, it is definitely a doodler's paradise ;
Ow man this looks awesome
I grew up there and there was actually a point I took it for granted, not anymore :)
Your doodles actually have a style or should I say organised. Mine looks like something a chicken just did :) Though doodling comes hard these days as I spend most of my time in front of a PC typing away or on a cell phone. You may just have introduced a form of art / genre of artistic expression, who knows :)
Thanks for sharing as I find this entertaining. Hehehe
I have often wondered if anyone else out there draws like this, that would be funny if it were a new form of art :)
I know what you mean about being in front of a computer, I spend a lot of time on my laptop. But I've found that I still need my notebook for actual notes :)
I'm glad you found it entertaining!
Maybe for a change I may just have to pick up that paper and pen again. Been a while. Thanks
great..everything is perfect:)
Hello! I just upvoted you! I help new Steemit members! Upvote this comment and follow me! i will upvote your future posts! To any other visitor, upvote this post also to receive free UpVotes from me! Happy SteemIt!
I would normally ignore a comment like this one, but since you're new I'll offer some tips instead--pasting the same comment on posts over and over are going to earn you flags (downvotes) and not the upvotes you want. It's considered spam, and a lot of people are really angry about spam on here. The only way to do well on this site is to write thoughtful comments about the posts that you go to, comments that are actually about the posts that you go to, do you understand?
You can't very well help new steemit members when you're not helping yourself. (And I am not a new member)
Here is an animation about spam by @meesterboom, enjoy: https://steemit.com/life/@meesterboom/spam-an-animation
This looks really awesome! Wow!
Yes I featured and greatly supported @merej99 for her valuable contributions in my ~(Q2C2~)~.
I have also been friends wth @karenb54 for a long time.
I am grateful to be connected with you @krenb54 and @merej99 I feel a great sense of love and community of which I find the greatest value.
Blessings~*~
The place is calm and serene and that is why you get a lot of ideas here for your novel.
Yes, I have to agree that environment has a big effect on what I write :)
Thanks for filling some big shoes and pointing me to someone new! I could sit on that dock all day. Hope you enjoyed your camping adventures!
What a lovely thing to do, you have me in tears here, I am overwhelmed with all the love, care and support, thank you so much :)
Aw, I didn't mean to make you cry! You are a wonderful woman, you deserve every bit of the love, care and support :)
And in fact there is something I could use a little help with myself. I've been trying for ages to get my brother on here. I just put up a post of one of his newest songs along with pictures of a show I went to. I need comments that encourage him to join! He's not only talented, but also one of the kindest and funniest people in the world :)
I haven never felt so much support in my whole life. Really thank you for the care and support.
Ov course ill take a look :)
I love the doodle art, @dreemit! I laughed when you said, at this point I remembered to take some pictures. LOL I used to do that all the time. Man, oh man, I haven't taken a creative pen to paper in soooo long. I need to get back in the saddle with a few things as soon as life isn't as hectic.
