Yes most people hold up a sheet of paper with the date, their Steemit name and a signature. Read this post for more information - you can even do it confidentially if you want (which is understandable if you suffer from bipolar disorder or depression):
OK but be careful not to post too many times in a day. After 4 posts your rewards get reduced and it can annoy people who follow you.
