Creativity
...is always around you. It encircles you all the time and if you are silent enough you can hear the soft alien language it speaks.
Welcome folks, to part II of my little piece about creativity and how to get there. In this part, I will talk a bit more about why reason can be an enemy to creativity. Those who already read the first part can scroll straight down to part II. For those who haven't, here is the first part again:
Part I
With every new day in my studio the quest for the, literally “unspeakable”, beauty of nature leads me further into the silent connection between my consciousness and the vibrations of the present. Most of my paintings are done with the chaos principle, which means that I always work with what “happens” on the canvas. Control and chaos unite and manifest a cosmic symphony of colors and form. The painting always finds the way to the final result like a chain reaction. Painting, for me, is like a deep meditation where I can let go of my minds control and reasonable thoughts. I am leaving the world of reason behind. Only when I calm my mind and let something else take over, I can reach a satisfying result.
Our life is defined by constant change and it is very important for me to convey this fundamental principle, which is inherent in all things, on to the painting process. Every new piece is a new challenge to elevate my dance with chaos and spontaneity up to a degree where it just flows right through me. I am not very interested in being faithful to a certain style, but to explore the possibilities of the artistic expression...to see what I can scoop from the chaos of endless possibilities. My motives are just secondary, they are just the medium in which a deeper truth is transported. This lies in the abstract, in the hidden harmony of supplementary and contrasting layers of the painting. To make a “whole” out of the “many” is my biggest concern here. The goal is to create a complex matrix, which is able to connect with the imagination of the contemplator, and creates the “image” out of that correlation. The more complex the abstract is, the more stronger this synergy between image and viewer gets. At first the image might look fragmented, but soon you will realize that all parts are connected...they are in perfect balance and harmony with each other.
Part II
The co-play of the intertwining layers, which will “sound” in perfect harmony, will determine that effect. The more fragments are connected the more difficult the composition gets, but if it’s working out the result will be multi-layered and will take effect on the mind, which thinks to recognize something “well-known”. Behind the world of our everyday consciousness, our permanent description and analysis of things and ourselves, lies the bare present. The raw structure on which we lay our descriptions. So, what is left, behind our world of description?
- No:Thing - That is the unity of things, the non-dualistic universe. Meditation is the penetration into that realm. Lose your language and you begin to have a peak behind that door.
Our body is at home in a world of complex patterns and systems, partly recognizable through our senses. But our mind mostly moves purely on the intellectual layer, and his medium is the word. It is sad that we lost the equilibrium of those layers of reality over time in our modern culture. We are living in a world which is mainly ruled by the intellect and not by feeling. Those realms which are not reachable or describable by the intellect are too quickly put into the new-age corner, and are not seen as a valid part of our reality. It is our mind which sorts the things and builds its own little reality. The wholeness of the self can only be reached by being fully aware of the present without judgment. The insight into the totality of things requests the loss of the constant judgment of reality. Dali used the term "Quantum Realism" when he was talking about the art of the future...an exact rendering of reality, without the constraints of reason.
The „motif“ will disappear more and more from the images painted in the quantum realistic style. If the construct of reality is shown in its infinite facets and the layering on the canvas is very multi-layered and dignified, one might realize that the objects in our surrounding are nothing more than projections of our mind, which simplifies to get a hold of things. (Maybe the reason why it is so hard for us to realize the nature of our reality is exactly the phenomenon that our mind spends too much time with its appearance, its outer form.) Because of that phenomenon the unity of reality is behind our perception and can only be reached if we are able to calm down our mind whose job is to constantly describe the parts of the world.
Be silent within and you will hear the universe talking to you ;-)
Great one - like your Style and Colors ... :-)
resteemed
Thanks for that :-)...I appreciate it.
Wow... your paintings are amazing...😃
Soft alien languages? You are really speaking my language here 😍 All of these are gorgeous, I especially love the complexity of the first one!
Thanks for resteeming Julia :-)
