You know how sometimes things happen that make you realize that life isn't really all about you, and there are far bigger things at play in the universe?
Well, that's how @joechiappetta and I felt a few days ago when we heard about the war in Ukraine. Several months ago, before Ukraine was dominating our news feeds, Joe was cooking up the plans for ArtVndngMchn Series 3. He told me that 10% of the project would be donated to MERCYworldwide to specifically benefit the Kiev School for the Visually Impaired.
At the time, I thought to myself, "Huh...Kiev...that's in Ukraine...seems kind of far away from where we live in California and random... but I'm sure the blind kids could use help." Supportive wife that I am, I nodded and said, "Awesome!"
Today, on the verge of ArtVndngMchn Series 3 dropping tomorrow morning (Saturday Feb 26th, 9am PST), I am more in touch with events in Ukraine, thanks to my news feed. However, I can only imagine how much there is that I don't know, can't imagine to relate to, and will never know, that's going on in the hearts of the people of Europe.
However, I am very grateful to be able to be a part of a project that celebrates human creativity, community, and also will benefit children with disabilities in Kiev right now.
It seems like God, himself, had a hand in helping to decide how the charity funds would be used months ago, and knew how desperately they would be needed right now.
