Tiresias Myth - el mito de Tiresias

Tiresias was a man from ancient Greece. One day walking he found two snakes copulating, and hit them with his cane, killing them instantly.
Seeing this, the goddess Hera decided to send him a spell that turned him into a woman.
Tiresias continued his life as a woman, married and had children. Seven years later he found two snakes copulating again, but this time he decided to leave them alone, which broke the spell and Tiresias reverted to his old male form.

In a debate between the goddess Hera and the god Zeus about who enjoyed sex more, if the man or the woman, they called Tiresias to hear the answer.
Tiresias replied: "if pleasure were divided into 10 parts, the woman enjoys 9 and the man only 1"
Hera who had bet that the man enjoyed more was enraged and blinded him. Zeus could do nothing, but in return he gifted him with the gift of prophecy and the vitality of seven lives.

Tiresias era un hombre de la antigua Grecia. Un día caminando encontró dos serpientes copulando, y las golpeó con su bastón, matándolas al instante.
Al ver esto, la diosa Hera decidió enviarle un hechizo que lo convirtió en mujer.
Tiresias continuó con su vida como mujer, se casó y tuvo hijos. Siete años luego volvió a encontrarse con dos serpientes copulando, pero esta vez decidió dejarles en paz, lo que causó que el hechizo se rompa y Tiresias volviera a su antigua forma de hombre.

Hera que había apostado a que el hombre disfrutaba más se enfureció y lo encegueció. Zeus no pudo hacer nada, pero a cambio le regaló el don de la profecía y la vitalidad de siete vidas.
