Drawing is a life-prolonged practice #14 Tomato | Monthly Review

It has been a month since the last realistic colored pencil drawing was made, and now I am going to carry on the long-standing practice. I will utilize a new tool this time: Oily colored pencil. The feature of the oily color pencil is that the superposition effect of the color is particularly rich, and the refill is hard, thus it is very suitable for detail description.

After finishing my dinner, I discovered that there was a tomato on the corner of the dinning table. I actually used it for my son to practice touch and I was going to use it as a drawing objective.

There is a story on how people found tomato is edible. It is said that no one dared to eat tomatoes long ago. A lady ate the fruit of this red peony to choose suicide. As a result, she did not die but contributed to the discovery the edibility of tomatoes.

Monthly Review:
The tomato that everyone loves on everyday fruits is drawn life-likely by the author. People may take it as a real tomato at the first glance. This piece of colored pencil work can be regarded as a model for beginners to learn colored pencil drawing. The master's delicate sketch, laying drawing techniques, show his drawing experience of more than a decade. He vividly expressed this kind of drawing form between sketch and color, which is one of the best masterpiece in the world.

距离上次的写实彩铅绘画，已经过去一个月了，久违的修行再次进行。这次使用一样新道具：油性彩铅。油性彩铅的特点就是颜色的叠加效果特别丰富，笔芯的硬度强，进行细节刻画非常适合。

吃完晚饭发现餐桌的一角有一个西红柿，居然是给儿子触摸学习用的，我就拿来当做绘画道具了。

西红柿这个食物的发现有个故事：据说在很久以前，没有人敢吃西红柿。有个女人为了寻短见，就打算吃这个红彤彤的果实自尽。结果自己没有over，倒是贡献了西红柿的发现。

平日大家喜爱的番茄（也叫西红柿）被作者画的栩栩如生，让人乍一看以为是真的。本幅彩铅作品可以说得上是初学彩铅小白临摹入门的典范了，大师细腻的素描层层铺垫的绘图手法展现了他十几年深厚的绘画功底，将这种素描和色彩之间的绘画形式表达的淋漓尽致，可谓上乘之作一幅。
