It is to my great pleasure to share with you a picture of a very beautiful piece of art which I received as a gift from my Uncle who is a Painter,an fine arts scholar and my teacher.
It took him more than 3 weeks to complete this painting and to my greatest surprise he gifted it to me as a Token of love .
Who is Gautama Buddha ?
Gautama Buddha also known as Siddhartha Gautama ,Sakyamuni Buddha or simply Buddha was a ascetic and a saga on whose teachings Buddhism was founded.He is believed to have lived and taught mostly in the eastern part of ancient India sometime between 6 th and 4 th century.
Gautam taught a Middle way between sensual indulgence and severe asceticism common his region of eastern india. He later taught throughout other region of eastern India such as Magadha and Kasala.
Gautam is the primary figure in buddhism.
He is recognised by Buddhist as an enlightened teacher who shared his insight to help sentinal being end suffering.
Accounts of his life, discoveries and monastic rules are beleive by Buddhists to have been summarised after his death and memorised by his followers.Various collections of teachings attribued to him were passed down by oral tradition and first commited to writing about 400 years later.
